What is the average time you waited from LASD interview to when you received your Proceed to Training email?

I?m trying to time it so that I minimize the time from when I hopefully get my PTT email to doing my training.

I did my training right after my interview, as the training is good for 12 months with LASD. There's a google sheets page where people are updating their timelines so you can check there and also add your data points.

Completed my renewal today.
-Expiration 5/27/2023
-Renewal training completed 02/19/2023
-Application packet mailed 02/21/2023
-Application delivered 02/23/2023
-Phone interview 04/18/2023
-Renewal pick up call 05/08/2023
-Pick up 05/30/2023

Couple of notes
-I started my renewal before permitium launched. Process will likely be different with permitium
-If you complete the training before the go ahead. You are doing so at your own discretion. Do not submit the training certs until they ask you to. I turned mine in with my renewal app and they asked for it again.
-renewal fees have changed. You will need two money orders, one for the DOJ and one for LASD
-submitted your application way ahead of time is pointless. They are prioritizing the renewals. Just get them in before around the 90 days.
-I expired out, but I believe this is due to Memorial Day weekend

I'm at the 6 month mark and just about to summit for renewal when I noticed the change in the LASD website. I recall seeing people saying it taking 6 months to process. Was it that they submitted 6 months in advance then got the approval close to the expiration date hence appearing to take the full time or did most submit close to 90 days then get approval some time after their ccw expired? I imagine the online system will be way more efficient but the thought of not having a valid ccw for a period of time concerns me.

I think it?s because they just don?t process your renewal until it gets closer to your actually renewal date. Also with the move to online they even state you may not apply until 90 days before the expiration date listed on their current Concealed Carry Weapon license.

ok, i'm digging thru this thread again and a few questions remain for my renewal early next year:
-considering backlogs, should i submit a renewal app early or does it not matter?
-is there no more good cause statement?
-are we expected to submit something in the additional info for moral character?
-is online submission an actual thing? no reply from lasd to my email

1. It doesn?t seem to matter. All those who submitted early ended up still getting a pick up date close to their expiration. I submitted mine 92 days before expiration and got mine in 89 days.
2. No. Good cause is no longer part of the updated application.
3. No. LASD doesn?t require any supporting documents for GMC.
4. Yes.

LASD went online, and system will not allow to submit renewal prior to 90 days
No more GC statement

The certs are good for a year so you can probably knock it out now if you want. Someone earlier posted that when they spoke to LASD, applicants who interviewed in Feb are currently being processed.

Seems to be around 2-3 months from recent posts, as training is valid for 12 months, I would just do it now. I have my training this weekend and I still haven't received the proceed to training from LASD yet, it's been almost 2 months for me.

Just came back from my interview at Sherman Block, interviewing deputy said right now there’s about a 4 month wait from the interview to the PTT email. Be sure to bring both originals and photocopies of any required documents as well as the livescan documents, they will keep those.

That?s funny, I did mine on May 1st, and I was told 5 months. Maybe the wait times are coming DOWN?!?!?

Definitely be on the lookout for a call from a ?No Caller ID? this coming week since I can?t imagine it will take much longer to get to your pick up call. Just hang in there, I know how painful it is when you can see the finish line.

It finally happened. I received the call late yesterday evening! The wait is over.
