I can post my timeline with LASD and you can take it for what it’s worth.
I’m grandfathered in now, my city is no longer served by LASD, but doesn’t matter going forward.
Feb 2022 application
April 2022 check cashed
Oct 2022 call for interview
Nov 2022 livescan
Jan 2023 email to proceed with training
Feb 2023 started private training with VIP CCW services based on recommendation from this forum and that was a good recommendation. I would recommend, but you can do class you don’t have to do private.
April 2023 finished training, written test and qualification shooting.
June 2023 picked up CCW from Sherman Block station.
June 2023 I signed with CCWsafe.
My interview was quick. I just brought required docs which they reviewed, verified my identity and employment. They asked about prior arrests and says tell us everything including before age 18, which I thought was interesting. They said livescan will find everything. Not really an issue so, OK. Never once did they ask about my just cause. I was dressed as a professional.Comment

I also used VIP CCW to qualify (LAX Shooting Range). However, if you need practice or training on how to qualify, I have a guy that I used just to brush up. I took 3 classes with him, an hour long. Best thing I did. He is in Long Beach. PM if you want his contact.Got a call this morning to schedule an interview for the week of 6/19. Caller ID showed wireless caller with a 213 area code. I don't know if I'm happier about actually getting the call, or that I no longer have to answer the thousands of spam calls I've been getting per week.
See my signature for timeline, but as another data point I found out my application was entered in their system in October and as of mid-May they were working on July applicants. Doesn't really mean much considering all the variables, but thought I'd throw it out there.
Edit to add -
Anyone have any trainers they can recommend around the Long Beach area? Also, curious to know how the interview process is from any recent interviewees?Last edited by QQRG; 06-10-2023, 6:11 AM.L.A. County CCW progress

Interview was just as you described, I dressed professionally and only was asked to verify my employer, address, and position held at my job. Then she had me verify the information that would go on my card was correct. Picture, signature, and handed me my card. I was out in under 10 minutes.I can post my timeline with LASD and you can take it for what it’s worth.

I heard a man that went in before me that was out in the same amount of time, mentioned to himself, “ I paid $125.00 for that, perhaps he wanted a longer experience lol.
I was glad it was that fast. The longest part was waiting in their sitting area and walking back up the hill to my car.
I am also grandfathered in with LASD, and it’s a great thing because my city is asking for far too much money (fees) and a psychological test. Perhaps a method to discourage people from applying.
Anyways glad it’s done. Now it’s a matter of me getting use to carrying lol. Still a bit unreal for me.L.A. County CCW progress

I know there's a whole thread on LASD Renewals(for those who didnt know this, I will post the link below), but it looks like they're moving relatively quick on renewals. This might be a rush to push out the paper renewals since they switched over to the online database? Meh, who knows. I ain't complaining though.

Thanks for the recommendation. Already took the class with my buddy who got his PTT before me at Firing Line. I wanted to knock out everything in one day instead of splitting it into two. Will probably take his class for my renewal though because I was not a big fan of the class at Firing Line.Definitely hit up Josh with VIP CCW Services for your training because you?ll learn a lot with his experience http://www.vipccwservices.com/
I know this has been asked before but there are too many pages to scroll through. The PTT email says the subject line must say "FIREARMS TRAINING." When you email the cert, does it matter if you just reply with the same subject line of "LASD CCW FIREARMS TRAINING" or does it have to only say "FIREARMS TRAINING"?Last edited by idunnosowhat; 06-12-2023, 11:01 AM.Comment

Mine had the requested words as well as additional words and characters on the subject line and it was accepted without any issues.I know this has been asked before but there are too many pages to scroll through. I had the same thought as the person above. I received my PTT email last week. I just simply hit reply, attached my documents and sent it.
So now I?m confused. Did you just hit reply? Or did you add ?firearms training?? Hope I didn?t further delay my ccw.Comment

I just hit reply. I didn’t change the subject line. I didn’t get a confirmation email. I did email them about 3 days later asking politely for a confirmation of receiving my documents. Surprisingly they promptly replied:
