Have you checked the database. A CalGunner made this spreadsheet for people to track progress so you can see where people with similar interview dates are in the process.

    LA County CCW Timeline:
3/28/22- Dropped off application in person
    4/11/22- Money Order cashed
    1/4/23- Interview
    5/6/23- PTT
    5/10/23- Training Received (phone call)
    5/27/23- Call for pick-up
    6/15/23- Pick Up

        - 3/10/23 Phone interview
        - 4/12/23 Approved with email to do required training
        - 4/21/23 Did training and submitted late that date (Fri evening so effectively sent in training completion 4/24/23)

        - 5/4/23 Pickup date

So after submitting 6 months in advance, had a one day lapse between old permit and new permit. Granted, I could have saved about 2 weeks if I had taken my tranining prior to receiving approval call. But as I stated before, I advise submitting your renewal, at least 6 months in advance.
A fellow CCW holder suggested that we submit our renewal applications with RENEWAL in large red letters on the outside of the application package to minimize the chance of it falling into the pile of incoming first time applications. My expiration date is in December 2023, so will be submitting renewal next week. After submitting this, I found on the LASD website an instruction to label the envelope ?renewal?. So not an original idea.

Yes, that's exactly what I did. On both sides of the envelope just to be safe.

I tried searching for this, but couldn?t find an answer in this sea of posts.

I?m going in for my interview next week.

Do I need to have all my firearms on hand by the interview?

The guns I originally put in the app are no longer valid and I have some new ones on order that I want to put on the CCW instead.

                TIA

No, but you will need any guns you intend on putting on your license before you take your class. Once you qualify with those weapons during class, no changes can be made.

Has anyone received a pick up call without getting a confirmation of training docs received email first?

In addition to what Chakachaka said, they might pull up information on the firearms you listed and ask you questions about them during the interview so just be ready to explain if for example you sold them a while back and they came up as registered to someone else.

It should be no problem, just wanted to mention they might ask.

Just to add, they changed the fees for pick up. I was instructed to bring 2 money orders or cashiers checks. One payable to LASD and one payable to DOJ
