I emailed the LAPD and got a response back within 24-hours stating that I was on a waiting list and it takes 9-12 months for an interview. My brother did his through the LASD and got an interview 14 month later, hoping that it does not take that long.

So after 18 months and my interview I have a letter in the mail today? Haven't been able to open it yet but last time I got a letter after an interview I was denied so I guess we will see. Does anyone know if your supposed to get a letter or email after your interview?

That doesn't sound too good. The only contact after your interview should be an email asking you to proceed to training. I never received anything by mail, my final approved letter was handed to me in person during pickup.

I submitted my training completion last week of September and emailed them 2 weeks ago was told it was pending final-review. Is that a automated response? Has it taken anyone else this long recently? Almost 4 months..

2- A request for a stay pending appeal was denied. That denial dissolves the administrative stay that was granted to Bonta after the Administrative injunction was granted by the District court?so the District Court Injunction is now back in force. Good for us.

The 9th did NOT rule today on the constitutionality of SB2.
Remember, that while the current Injunction does keep certain places labeled as sensitive from being enforced for now, it does not keep all places that are labeled as sensitive from being enforced.

Basically before SB2 was in effect if it was a sensitive place those are still sensitive places nothing more nothing less. As they say status quo before sb2

I started looking into getting my CCW a couple years ago but dropped the idea at the time. Now I am thinking about it again (I know, not the greatest timing) as I am going to be doing a lot of solo motorcycle camping in the coming years. I know my "tent is my home" but I don't want to have to worry as much about storing, or the way I store it in my (locked) panniers, AND, if I leave my bike and my tent for any reason, I don't like the idea of leaving my firearm behind unattended, even if locked up.

One thing I just noticed that did not catch my eye the last time I was looking into it was the this requirement for one of the three Personal references/LoR's:

"One of the three must be a person described in Penal Code section 273.5, subdivision (b) (your spouse, or former spouse, your cohabitant or former cohabitant, your fianc?e, or someone with whom you have, or previously had, an engagement or dating relationship, or the mother or father of your child), if applicable. At least one of the three must be your cohabitant if applicable."

I have been divorced, and single since 2016, from my former wife who lives in Denmark (where I also lived for 22 of the 26 years we were together). We do not talk other than the extremely rare merry Christmas or Happy Birthday nicety through our adult children (my daughter is here my son in school over there). Even if I reached out through one of them, there's more than likely not a snowballs chance in hell I would get an LoR from her (she is generally not big on guns).

I understand abusive relationships and all that, but if I have no history of that kind of behavior it seems like a pretty unreasonable request to me. That whole section deals offenses committed under that Penal Code (again, none of which I have committed).

                      Am I SOL?

To make matters worse, we were married in Burbank in 92' but divorced in Denmark in 16'. I have my Danish divorce papers of course (as well as a clean police report from just before I moved back to the States in 18'), but as far as L.A. County, it probably still shows us as still being married.

                      Thanks!

If you've ever dated someone they want a reference from them LOL.
ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

I can give them her email address? that?s all I have. Last I heard she was a flat earther. I Hope they don?t put too much weight into her views on me or anything else.

Still a bit of a road till I get there. Getting a new DL as I live in Quartz Hill but my utility bills and what not say Lancaster, so they do not match my license. My eye color is also wrong (says blue but they are hazel, don?t remember checking blue), so don?t want some little detail tripping me up.

I was with the same damn person for almost 26 years lol. Dating was and is not something I am interested in at this stage of my life (have had a few ?dates? but haven?t dated anyone as such since my divorce). I prefer it that way.

I do still have contact (on friendly terms) with an ex gf from the 80?s 😅.
