I gave an alternative to a utility bill when I submitted my application. It became an issue again at the end of the process with a deputy holding setting am appointment for pick up against producing a utility bill. I didnt have one. They did accept an internet bill in the name of my wife together with a marriage certificate.

Simple answer, LASD didnt let me slide with no utility bill.

I submitted a signed lease (signed a month before interview) for proof of residency. Was told that would be fine. Got called before the pick up call saying they need a utility bill, and a lease is not good enough for proof of residency

Any tips for me, ya'll? Applied LASD in-person 6/22/22, check cashed 6/28/22. I know it can go a lot longer so not concerned, but would love to give it a nudge if anyone has some insight or suggestions they've tried. Thanks in advance.

Best bet to gaining some insight is to call the CCW unit and see when your application was input into their system. The "input" date usually corresponds with check being cashed but if you applied at a station they typically cash the checks much faster but your app doesnt get input any faster.

I agree; they cashed my money order within two days. I am unsure when my information was entered into their system, but my timeline isn't too far off from what I see in others' posts.

Just another data point. Mailed my app June 27 2022. Decided to finally call and confirm my application was received. It was, and it has was input in the system in September. He said they are currently working on July.

Received the call today at 12:30 to interview from a 213 number, about 11 months since I mailed the application to the Hall of Justice. Interview is at the Sherman Block Center in MPK. The deputy told me what dates and times were available and asked for my email address. About 5 minutes later I received a confirmation email along with a parking map and a list of required documents. They ask that you complete your livescan before the interview.

If the applicant has been interviewed, finished live scan and training, what work is there really left to do other than print out the card? I get that there are thousands of applicants, but confirming the above "is complete" seems like it would take 15 minutes an applicant?

They actually have to do a thorough background check after your interview and refer for approval/denial consideration from the sergeant.

Correct. Once you complete your training and turn in your completion certs, you can make no changes even if it?s before license issuance.

Wow. About time that they went to online. I wonder if the 90 day limit on renewals will be enforced since it was taking 6 months to process them...

They weren’t taking 6 months for renewals. I submitted mine 92 days before expiration and got mine in 89 days. They just don’t process your renewal until it’s actually about to expire.

Interesting data point for those who track this sort of stuff: I got a call from a "Private Number" this afternoon. I answered it, and it was LASD saying "I need to talk to you about your application." Somewhat jokingly, I asked if they were calling to let me pick it up earlier.

Well, guess what. That's exactly why they were calling. I get to pick it up 2 weeks earlier.

Miracles happen.

I haven?t received a call from any private number. Starting to think they forgot about me Looks like we submitted training around the same time.
