Has anyone found out yet whether we still have to wait one year from our denial letter? Even if they wanted good cause I have an excellent and solid good cause at this time but since I was denied for the lack of good cause I wanna know if I still have to wait a year or just jump right in. Someone else Had written to the CCW unit for the same reasons as mine and they got a letter back saying that they still have to wait one year. Personally I think those of us who were denied of good cause should have the right to go right back to where we were denied from and not start from the beginning

The funny part is they wanted you to have your papers to work eat and travel to protect the world we are all in this together they said.

Today they dont want you to have any paper to buy gas eat or be permitted to protect yourself without breaking the law.

          See how that works!

Hope I didn't just give AV any ideas.
The test qual is the same that off duty and retired deputies do. Cops are not real well trained and don't have to be great shots. So not a chance they'll make it harder on their own.

Is only listing the Supreme Court ruling and Bonta's Legal Alert enough now in the GC section or should I still list out a bunch of random GC reasons just in case? If so, can anyone link the comprehensive GC post(s), I've seen it before but I figure now is a time when a lot of people are going to apply and it'd be helpful to have the GC reasons handy.

I don't know but I have zero hope the LASD will do us any favors. In the year we wait, the line will be 2 years longer and other rules will be invented.

In a week maybe stating people have to meet the GMC set by the state

You know, just as a CYA for the sheriff.

There is no GMC set by the state.

The AGs memo only showed Sac and Riverside as examples of GMC. Its still up to the Sheriff to come up with his own policy. Its not hard, lots of IAs do it.

Many IAs that have been issuing readily used the GMC to weed out the undesirables. Mine does and seem to use it fairly evenhandedly despite it being subjective.

They have to see how many County Attorney's can justify their position by reading the SCOTUS Ruling, then reading Bonta's Letter. They are Gov't employees, so I would not expect anything for a few weeks.

Do you recommend mailing in an app to the Hall of Justice? Or is it better to just drop off the app & money order at a local LASD station?

With everything going on at the moment with the scotus ruling i would mail it registered mail so you have proof of delivery date, i get the feeling the AG will start to change up training requirements to put people off applying for a CCW, i dont think legally he can do much to the issuing fee's.
