Any benefit to completing the training before getting the Proceed to Training email? Completed all three of my livescans last week.

The benefit is turn around from the time you get your Proceed to Training email, and you being able to send it back same day to LASD. The wait times are long enough, may as well shorten it down where you can. You will still have to wait for the we received it, and the call for Interview, but why add a delay you can remove?

What’s the process for adding or removing the three weapons on the permit? I applied to LAPD today, but if I want to add additional firearms wondering if that can be done. Can you add to the application at the interview? I know no one has had LAPD interviews but wondering how it’s worked for the LASD so far.

Yes, you can add, change, delete. I changed one during my LASD interview. It’s a simple process. Just let the interviewing deputy know that you want to add/change, they’ll then input the serial number in their system right then and there, check to make sure you’re the registered owner, update your paperwork and you’ll be good to go. Just make sure to have the serial number of the gun you want to add.

No idea why LASD doesn't follow this without punishment.

There is really no punishment, no one goes to jail, and no one gets out there checkbook. Not even a public lashing. The only punishment is the Sheriff may have to show up in court and explain he is short manpower, doesn't have budget, and the Judge asks him to put in an effort and report back every 30, 60, or 90 days. Most of the County doesn't care as they see CCW's as evil, so they will push for further cuts.

My friend applied and already interviewed at LAPD. He said LAPD is actually following the guideline allotted to them to give an answer which is 90 days from the interview.

If you are a long time follower of this thread, you can see progress. Last month they started Saturday calls, then apparently recently they added Friday pickups, previously only Wednesday. I about pulled all of my hair out before I got the pickup call, hang in there people. You've done the work, soon you will reap the rewards.

I think a few folks posted it is anywhere from 6-8 weeks from the training docs email. Hopefully with the Friday and Saturday pickups they are trying to get it down to 4 weeks. You will likely be bald before you get the call.

It's coming be patient...in the meantime...order a application packet and apply for your Arizona and Utah permits so you can carry in Nevada (Las Vegas)..with your live fire CA training certificate ...if you haven't done so already..

I'm expecting 6-8 weeks, but being stupid and hopeful for 4 with the new pick up days
