It would be great if anyone could get an answer from LASD as to whether they will be revisiting/reactivating applications that were recently denied for "insufficient good cause," similar to what they did for applicants denied prior to AV's initial relaxation of the GC standard early last year.

Year end might be a little too optimistic my friend. I applied July 2021....still waiting for the proceed to training email.Pretty huge news. Glad to see him moving forward with “shall issue” and also glad to hear that there are only 1300 being processed right now. I would have thought that number was 5k+. There is a glimmer of hope that I get my permit by year end (submitted in February)

Here is my permit:

JUSTICE THOMAS delivered the opinion of the Court.
In District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U. S. 570 (2008), and McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U. S. 742 (2010), we recognized that the Second and Fourteenth Amendments protect the right of an ordinary, law-abiding citizen to possess a handgun in the home for self-defense. In this case, petitioners and respondents agree that ordinary, law-abiding citizens have a similar right to carry handguns publicly for their self-defense. We too agree, and now hold, consistent with Heller and McDonald, that the Second and Fourteenth Amendments protect10/15/2022 - Called to get on the list

Minimum caliber requirement?
Provided I have the good fortune to be accepted, I plan to list a .357 and a .38 as carry weapons. For the third, I was thinking of listing a .22 LR pocket pistol.
Anyone know if there's a minimum caliber acceptable to LASD? I didn't see any mention on their web site but who knows???Comment

so with the announcement from the head honcho today my only question is will the timelines speed up, assuming LASD was previously reading through applications and separating GC STMTS and then scheduling out interviews.
Im assuming now the process will be submit application with livescan / go take training, and issue provided nothing pops up on the background.yellow & red gc

First off Soyboy, thanks for contributing to CalGuns and congratulations on NYSRPA v Bruen. Now how to best exert your time and money. It would be great if anyone could get an answer from LASD as to whether they will be revisiting/reactivating applications that were recently denied for "insufficient good cause," similar to what they did for applicants denied prior to AV's initial relaxation of the GC standard early last year.
LASO dosen't care that they were in error as to your rights and took your hard earned donuts. I would get the email and snail mail address of highest ranking person and complain in writing about safety. You want to bear a pistol yesterday, enough of your rights have been abrogated. That word, safety ,is real big in LEO bull**** so turn it around. The reason you want to do this is because there will be much litagation in future esp from liberal areas like LA and big lib areas. The impetus should now be that Warren v Washington DC and Castle Rock v Gonzalez prove legally that LEO have no obligation to protect you. The Uvalde abortion and slaughter take it shamefully closer to home in that LEO from 6 agencies and 150 in number did nothing for an hour and a half since shooters neighbor called 911. The more people that write these things on paper scares the shaet out of LEOs that would abrogate your civil rights. Don't worry about money lost. Tell them you'll give them a credit card now because you're scared for your safety and your cheese is exposed. Start the clock again, very important, ask if you can carry either open or CCW now since you've contacted them or if it is an "infraction". Of course they'll say blah, blah, u say what PC? "For legal reasons, I need to know". Ten thousand Angelenos should do this today. If you don't demand your rights Bonta, Newscum are going to take care of you. I was born at Queen of Angels Hosp in Rampart district in 1951. I have always been proud of LA in spite of what non natives have done to it. Good luck and long live the Republic.Last edited by marcusrn; 06-29-2022, 6:20 PM.sigpicComment

Was looking at your timeline. Your permit should have been issued within 4 weeks after you submitted your training documents. If you submitted it on January, something's definitely wrong. You should send the CCW Unit an email.so with the announcement from the head honcho today my only question is will the timelines speed up, assuming LASD was previously reading through applications and separating GC STMTS and then scheduling out interviews.

Checked for this information myself too. According to their website's FAQ section, there is no caliber limitation.Provided I have the good fortune to be accepted, I plan to list a .357 and a .38 as carry weapons. For the third, I was thinking of listing a .22 LR pocket pistol.
