A fellow colleague in the firearms industry mailed her app at the end of April (2 weeks after I mailed mine on 4/14), and she got the call for interview on July 9.

Makes me wonder if she just got lucky being assigned to a deputy who works faster, or if they are prioritizing applications for interviews by the strongest stated good cause, instead of the order received? Her GC like mine is Light Yellow. I'm a business owner, so mine is a bit stronger (Light Red).

She also wonders if every application is entitled to an interview?

Sheriff Deputy called in the 7/12 morning, before 11AM. I'm not sure of the exact time, just came by before lunch to tell us of the good news. Caller ID # blocked.

Sheriff Villanueva is appearing before the Civilian Oversight Commission tomorrow (agenda is here). I think he has done a fantastic job with the boardwalk in Venice, and you know he's going to need his flak jacket on when he enters the meeting.

You can submit a public comment here. On the agenda, the item up for discussion is item 2.c., "Discussion regarding the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department activity in Venice Beach and other areas to address the unhoused population." The meeting is tomorrow at 9 am, but if you submit it before 5 pm tomorrow, it becomes part of the official record. Or, you can tune into the Webex and comment too.

                  let's show him some support!

I'm probably going to pick up a Shield at Turners before my interview on Friday and squeeze that into my application. According to the suggestions here, it seems the pistols are finalized just before training so I have still have a window.
Doesn't matter. It should have still shown up as registered handguns in your name. AFAIK, there is no distinction between SSE pistols and rostered pistols on registration database. You should double check your numbers and if necessary, make an inquiry to DOJ to see what actually shows up on your record.

Pistols DROSed as SSE with show as a SSE exemption in the database.

Is there anyone in April 1st and 2nd weeks who has not received the interview call? My brother and his buddy have not received any calls. Both of them are April 9th's apps.

Maybe I'm not looking at this correctly, but I don't think it's supposed to be "I want a CCW license, what cause can I come up with to get one." I think it's meant to be "my life is in danger, how can I legally protect myself."

As I said, I don't think everyone is meant to have a CCW license. I've lived over 40 years without one and (knock on wood) I have yet to need one. Having said that, it's better to have it, but not need it vs finding yourself in a situation where you need it, but don't have it.
