My greatest concern now is that my 2 pistols that cannot be found in the LASD system are my only pistols that are suitable as a CCW. From what I've read, once the CCW pistols are placed on the license, they can't be changed until the renewal period.

Anyone have any opinions as to whether the current timeline of training and live scanning will allow me to re-register my 2 pistols with the DOJ before I need to finalize my pistols for a CCW? I've considered buying a MP Shield from Turners tomorrow to be safe, but rather not do that.

If anyone has any thoughts on the timeline I'm facing, I'm all ears.

Why jeopardize your CCW opportunity and mess around with unregistered firearms.

I've gone back and read about 2/3 of the posts.

What if your reason for a CCW is to able to protect your loved ones and yourself from possible harm? I suppose I could try to manufacture something about dangerous areas and equipment (I work in commercial real estate), but that would be a stretch.

And if the answer is that doesn't qualify as good cause, I guess I can continue to live without a CCW permit. Not the outcome I was hoping for, but I guess we can't all qualify for one.

Good evening all, I know the question was asked about what everyone’s EDC would be if awarded with a CCW. What about holsters ie. material, company, sidecar appendix, with so many choices out there just wanted some input. Possible some insight from our CCW awardees?

My interviewer did not e-mail me for about 24 hours. They don't always send the e-mail right away. Worst case, e-mail the CCW unit if you don't get the e-mail after a day or two.

It's been 5 days since I got the call (7/8/21).
Do you happen to have the CCW unit email address or number?
I can only find the general LASD number online and get a recording of some general info when getting routed to CCW unit. No live person

Buy a shield or a Glock 19. DOJ takes a long time these days to enter self registrations into their AFS database.

I did.

Maybe I'm not looking at this correctly, but I don't think it's supposed to be "I want a CCW license, what cause can I come up with to get one." I think it's meant to be "my life is in danger, how can I legally protect myself."

As I said, I don't think everyone is meant to have a CCW license. I've lived over 40 years without one and (knock on wood) I have yet to need one. Having said that, it's better to have it, but not need it vs finding yourself in a situation where you need it, but don't have it.

I GOT THE CALL AT 914AM THIS MORNING WHOOOO HOOOO. GOT THE EMAIL 5MINUTES AFTER THE CALL!

4/14 dropped off application at Hall of justice during George Floyd riots.
Did my live scan 4/20 live scan finished 5/15.
5/10 mailed another application and another 30 check.
Did my firearms training 5/11
Got the 7/13 phone call for interview.
Interview 7/16 at Monterey Park.

Good cause yellow own a small business in the last 3 months have cashed and deposited almost 40 grand in cash at atms at weird hours. Got a letter from my check cashing owners store explaining I cash large checks at odd hours.

Only issue is 2 of ccw handguns showed up on deputies report. My ghetto HighPoint C9 when I DROSed it at Ammo Bros they forgot 1 serial number at the end so my training/ and application have correct serial number but the DROS and livescan have the wrong serial number including wrong serial number on the receipt.

I will drop my HighPoint and just use my SA XD90 and Glock 19 on my ccw unless the deputy says we can correct it.

I spent 5 hours organizing my packet:

Dear Deputy S______

Enclosed please find the following (with tabs 1-10)

1. Los Angeles county sheriff’s department ccw application
2. Copy of drivers license & passport.
3. Copy of utility bills.
4. Copy of handgun DROS receipts.
5. Copy of ccw approved training certificates.
6. Copy of livescan application (completed)
7. Copy of company ownership documents articles of incorporation K1 pay stub business license.
8. Copies of good cause letter, original atm receipts bank statements canceled check.
9. Copies of clean MVR from DMV.
10. I forgot what this was.

1 full copy with originals for me.

1 full copy of everything above PRINTED OUT for Deputy.
