Perhaps all the delays are from all the calls and emails checking on status! Just because your live scans are completed doesn’t mean the supervisor has given the final go ahead. Before when live scans were taking a month or longer the supervisor had that time to give final approval so people didn’t have to wait that long after their live scan completed to receive that training email. Just have some patience and wait. They’ll get to you. All the status emails and phone calls will only get you a generic reply anyway.

I have three co-workers whom have mailed their LA county CCW applications in mid to late April.



The other two have yet to get the call for their interviews. They mailed their apps about a week+ after the first.



1st Applicant:

• ~4/19: Mailed their CCW application
• 7/12: Got the call for Interview appointment

I'll post more details after the interview process has passed.

Can you give provide the time the call was received and from what area code (or was it a blocked number)? Also, what GC?

Sounds like we got the same deputy, she told me the same thing. I just emailed her to give her notice that my Livescan completed this morning and look forward to the "proceed with training" email.

Did the email to proceed with training come from the same interviewing deputy?

Is it just me or does it seem like we have been talking about the status of mid April applicants for almost two month's now? It like one of those horror movie scenes where you start running down the hall way and no matter how fast and far you run, the hallway keeps stretching ahead of yoy so you never get to the end.

Having gone through this process once before in another county right after they loosened the standards a bit (San Diego), this is how it will be. Pretty soon each week will take a month to get through, if it hasn't already. This will continue until they hire more people.

If Villanueva is nervous about the amount of CCW permits being granted, no way he increases staffing. And given some of his statements along with the weird goal he has referenced before (400% increase), I have a feeling this is more about revenge on the board of supervisors than an actual permanent change of heart. In that case, he wouldn't want the floodgates to open too much.

Hope he proves me wrong and this week they announce they brought on 10 more deputies to help lol.

I love how these scumbags act as if issuing permits is some crazy rightwing thing to do, when aside from the Bay Area counties and LA, every county in the state was issuing to some degree to regular people, though with varied levels of good cause of course.

Yes that is why I'm not contacting them anymore.. I left an email one time and that's it.. But if I don't hear anything back after 6 weeks, witch should be in about a week I believe, at that time I may consider 1 more email.. But we'll see. Last thing I need is to be put on the annoying list.

Classes are a minimum of 8 hours with a max of 16. Class consist of lecture, covering CCW laws, regulations and an overview of appropriate and inappropriate use of force, etc. The range qualifications follow the lecture portion. See LASD site for proficiency standards.

Just wondering how many of you guys who applied already have active CCW from other states already?

I have 3 out of state CCW licenses. I listed all 3 on the application where they asked if you have or ever have been issued a CCW. Copies of all 3 licenses were also requested by the deputy who interviewed me. That was the reason my interviewing deputy told me to go ahead with my training since my live scan would come back clean.
