So no live scan document presented at the end of appointment is a bad sign? Anyone have direct knowledge at the Lakewood station?

My deputy gave me the livescan form but didn't tell me to do it or not do it but I did it a week after the interview anyways. I guess it's kind of a good sign he gave me one

A relative from San Bernardino advised me to use my cabin address (which I only visit maybe twice a month) because it was much easier than LA back then. This was a year ago. She said that I would have to wait a year after I changed to the cabin address because they need a year of residence.

Guess she was wrong, hehe.

There is nothing in state law that mandates a residency period, however, since they can deny you for any reason they want, and there is no appeal, each Sheriff can effectively establish whatever criteria he wants.

Basing off of collective information and general sense, yes. LASD does not want residents to pay extraneous money if they are ineligible. If they feel you are eligible, they will tell you to go livescan. It is not cheap - it is $120-130.

Basically, my impression is:

Told to proceed with livescan = probable (but not certain) approval.

Not told to proceed with livescan = probable (but not certain) denial.

Side business as "business"

In my GC I put a side business of mine as one of my two good causes. Second good cause being a LG GC.

I'm curious, for those who have listed a GC for their self-owned business and have subsequently received an interview/decision on your application, how formalized is your business and how was your success with the process?

I assume there are those business owners with the classic brick and mortar stores, but what about self-owned businesses that some may classify as side gigs?

My application was received July 6. I can't tell from these threads, what is the next thing that will happen? I will get a phone call from a restricted number or something? So I have to sit by my phone for 6 months or something?

I wouldn't say 6 months but it took me 2 and a half months to get an interview. Just answer every single call, even if it is a spam call. It is most likely to come from a restricted number. Good luck.

@portal I waited 33 days between confirmation of training cert to pick up.

Most other guys on the same date as me got theirs in 14-21 days.

Yours might be an additional week since last week was a Monday holiday and nothing gets done if cCw team doesn't meet on Monday
