I did.

Maybe I'm not looking at this correctly, but I don't think it's supposed to be "I want a CCW license, what cause can I come up with to get one." I think it's meant to be "my life is in danger, how can I legally protect myself."

As I said, I don't think everyone is meant to have a CCW license. I've lived over 40 years without one and (knock on wood) I have yet to need one. Having said that, it's better to have it, but not need it vs finding yourself in a situation where you need it, but don't have it.

As I hope SCOTUS will soon confirm, the "and bear" part of "to keep and bear arms" has a meaning. What it's meant to be is you have the right to carry unless you lose it by being a criminal or adjudicated mentally unable to handle the responsibility.

Over 20 states now have some form of permitless carry, and the majority of the rest are at least shall-issue, where as long as you jump through the hoops and clear the background check, you will get a permit even by just citing general self defense as a reason. It's only California and a handful of other leftwing states that treat carrying as a privilege.

That we are willing to go along with LASD's requirements to finally get permits in LA does not mean those requirements are constitutionally legitimate.

I had my interview a few days before you and did my training same day as you in Burbank. I was told by the deputy that it would be about 2.5 months before the whole process is complete so I'm expecting a pick up email/call maybe early August...
