Asking for a friend.
He has an arrest record from out of state (Texas) from his younger years that has been expunged and he is legally allowed to deny the arrest ever happened (in Texas).
If he declined to mention the arrest on the application (as instructed by his Texas lawyer during his time in Texas) should he mention it during his interview with LASD? What if asked if he has any expunged records?
My understanding is that in Texas, a person is lawfully allowed to deny the arrest and the expunged record exists... however, this is California so as always, different rules. Will out-of-state expunged records show up in LASD database?Comment

You and I got in before the influx of applications. Some of the guys who got theirs before us got it in under a month.LA County CCW HolderComment

The application ask if he he has ever been arrested, not if he has a record. Tell the truth on the app. Since he was a juvenile it shouldn’t matter unless it was for something serious. If he doesn’t list it and they find it on his record it is an automatic denial.LA County CCW HolderComment

Expunged and sealed records still show up. Tell him to be truthful. That is one thing that investigators are looking for.Comment

I think what he's concerned about is that he already submitted the application with "no" checked for arrests... He's happy to be transparent but it was out of habit that he wrote no. He's got an interview so just trying to figure out best course of action. I'll pass these comments on to him.Comment
