I'd tell your friend to run a copy of the federal background check and see if he has an FBI number for that arrest.Asking for a friend.
He has an arrest record from out of state (Texas) from his younger years that has been expunged and he is legally allowed to deny the arrest ever happened (in Texas).
If he declined to mention the arrest on the application (as instructed by his Texas lawyer during his time in Texas) should he mention it during his interview with LASD? What if asked if he has any expunged records?
My understanding is that in Texas, a person is lawfully allowed to deny the arrest and the expunged record exists... however, this is California so as always, different rules. Will out-of-state expunged records show up in LASD database?"The right to keep and bear arms . . . is not the only constitutional right that has controversial public safety implications. -- Justice Alito, McDonald v. Chicago

So, should I dress in slacks, shirt and tie for the interview? Business casual ok? I work in construction/maintenance and I'm going to work right after (appointment is in the morning). Would they scoff at me for wearing clothes I can work in, albeit some of my nicer working clothes?4/23/21- Application delivered to LASD

Slacks and a dressy shirt it'll be, then! Thanks sir.I don't know if it ultimately actually matters. I dressed proper and I think when you are trying to make a good impression, dress well. I didn't wear a tie but I wore a suit coat and slacks with dress shoes. If I were interviewing someone, these things would matter to me.4/23/21- Application delivered to LASD

Asking for a friend. He lived in LA all his life, but a couple months ago he moved to OC. His ID and everything still lists his LA address. Should he apply in LA or OC?
I've heard you need 1 year+ of residence to apply at whatever county.4/23/21- Application delivered to LASD

He needs to apply in OC. Shouldn't need to get a new license but he will need to update his address with the DMV. He should also update his address in CFARS so he can easily buy ammo.
Sent from my Amazon Fire Tablet using TapatalkYes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

It is ok to correct himself during the interview, and explain the situation.
I answered "No" for domestic violence, because I was never an abuser, but when the deputy asked me if I had a restraining order, I answered truthfully that I did, against a harassing neighbor. He told me I should've answered "Yes" for domestic violence, since I am a party to a restraining order. He crossed out "No" on my app and wrote in details of the restraining order.
It's not a big deal as long as it's an honest mistake or misinterpretation of the question on the app, and not an intentional attempt to hide information, as long as he explains it to the interviewing deputy.
I think what he's concerned about is that he already submitted the application with "no" checked for arrests... He's happy to be transparent but it was out of habit that he wrote no. He's got an interview so just trying to figure out best course of action. I'll pass these comments on to him.L.A. County CCW Trainer
