I've gone back and read about 2/3 of the posts.

What if your reason for a CCW is to able to protect your loved ones and yourself from possible harm? I suppose I could try to manufacture something about dangerous areas and equipment (I work in commercial real estate), but that would be a stretch.

And if the answer is that doesn't qualify as good cause, I guess I can continue to live without a CCW permit. Not the outcome I was hoping for, but I guess we can't all qualify for one.
Too many rifles, not enough time...

Protection is not acceptable good cause. Search "real estate" and you'll find a lot of good ideas for Good Cause in the last 50 or so pages.

      Feb/April timeframe.

      Good luck.

Or you can just self register it using this form. Again I don’t know how long it takes.

        Good luck
When asking for list of firearms owned one needs to have the form notorized. Nowadays the lic agencies want all your CCW guns in the system. OK to have guns unregistered that you've owned for over 30 yrs. Many people in Ca. carry CCW constitutionally meaning it's legal but they'll put you jail anyway. If these people carry unregistered guns they term a felony and put you in jail longer. If you carry commando it behooves you to register the pistol.

My greatest concern now is that my 2 pistols that cannot be found in the LASD system are my only pistols that are suitable as a CCW. From what I've read, once the CCW pistols are placed on the license, they can't be changed until the renewal period.

Anyone have any opinions as to whether the current timeline of training and live scanning will allow me to re-register my 2 pistols with the DOJ before I need to finalize my pistols for a CCW? I've considered buying a MP Shield from Turners tomorrow to be safe, but rather not do that.

If anyone has any thoughts on the timeline I'm facing, I'm all ears.

To ease everyone’s tensions.... Sounds like LASD was making calls last week.

Without divulging personal information, a very good friend of mine was one of those people who submitted an application last summer and of course was denied. Fast forward to March of this year, (I do not have his exact dates on hand) an LASD deputy called him asking if he was still interested in a CCW, to which he of course said “yes”. He had his interview a week or two after that, livescan, training. Well he got the call last week for pickup. He will be picking up his permit next week.

I know last week was particularly slow in the case of this thread but just because its not inundated with “call for pickup” or “call for interview” posts, that doesn’t necessarily mean LASD is “taking the week off” as I would imagine the vast majority of people who apply for a CCW don’t follow this as religiously as some of us here or don’t even know this resource even exists in the first place. Hope this helps for the whenever the next slow week inevitably comes around.

For anyone interested, his good cause would be categorized in the yellow category, work related.

Like I said before. You have until you submit your training to finalize the firearms you want on your license. So when you complete your training is up to you.

Can you guys share with me on when I'd get the email after the call for interview?
I was called and set a date for interview, and was told an email would be sent to me with more details. However, it's been almost a week and I got nothing.

If you all got the email fairly quick after getting the call, then this is not right. Is there a number or email I can use to reach them to check? (it was from a blocked number, and I was driving so didn't write down the person's name that called me)

Thanks a lot for the help.

Some people got emails. Others didn't.

Just show up to your interview and bring copies of your documents.

I work in commercial real estate investment sales and not residential real estate. No housewives looking to make money on the side. I deal with institutional investors, advisors, etc.

I have been to questionable areas of L.A. and I.E. touring potential properties, but not sure if that has the same impact as a female realtor showing houses.

                          Any suggestions?

Yeah, she asked me to confirm my email address. I read it to her and it's the same one as the one I put on the application.

She may have typo'ed when sending, I guess.

My concern is, I don't know my interview location . I just got the date and time (like I mentioned, I was driving the the call came)

So I definitely need to get ahold of them somehow
