So, I just got a traffic ticket today. Does anybody know if it'll affect my chances of renewal? I am planning to take Traffic School since I'm eligible and haven't gotten a ticket for a very long time. It was for making a right turn in a no right turn zone, I didn't see a sign. I had emailed CCW unit as the Terms state and they asked me for a copy of the ticket.

The amount of time it?s taking LASD is simply ridiculous I?m kinda surprised they don?t have a bunch of 2nd amendment lawsuits against them.

Not sure if a thread was made, but Michel & Associates sent a notice to AG Bonta detailing that the extreme wait times and excessive costs in some counties are a clear violation of both the SCOTUS ruling and CA Penal Code 26205 (decision of approval or denial must be made within 90 days of initial application or 30 days after receipt of applicant's background check from CA DOJ, whichever is later).

Sent certified mail 7/25/23 and they requested a response within 21 days of receipt of the letter.

No clue if they heard back or even will hear back but sounds like they wanted to give ample time (1 year) to the state and counties to streamline the CCW application system...which obviously hasn't happened and now they're moving towards legal action.

Pick up date 9/27 was the first available and only slot this month.

Not disclosing my speeding ticket/court case from 2002 cause an additional 7 week delay. Since the email asking about it was sent 7/27/23

Do you have an iphone or android? I have an iphone and mine came in from a "No Caller ID" number. I get tons of "scam likely" calls but have been answering them to make sure I don't miss my call. But so far all calls from the CCW unit have either been a random 213 area code or No Caller ID / Unknown.

If you havent taken training/qualification yet you can qual with that firearm and add it to your list. If the department that youre applying to allows 3 firearms, you can qual with 3.

Submit that qual when you receive your PTT email. I think once you submit your training there is no adding new firearms due to the backlog of CCW applications.

With LASD, you can change your firearm on the permit up until the day before your pick up date. You just need to call the CCW unit and they will ask you to provide them with an updated training certificate. I changed my listed guns about 2 or 3 days before I went in to pick up.

A speeding ticket in 2002 caused your delay? I had speeding ticket in 1/2000 that I didn?t even mention and it didn?t cause any issues. That is strange that they even looked so far back for traffic infractions.

I should clarify, the citation was initially for street racing, I had to appear in court, where it was thrown out and replaced with a speeding ticket since I technically cannot street race with myself

That's a great point, I hadn't thought about carrier. Perhaps that, rather than the phone is the difference in the variation between what people are seeing. I'm with Verizon.

Does anybody have a working number for the CCW unit that they have successfully been able to contact them at? I have call the number on Google and their website multiple times but no one answers I'm almost 15 months of waiting for a reply on my application and would like to call them to see what is going on I applied 6/24/2022
