I was denied last year. Got a call today saying policy has been updated and wanted to know if I wanted my application re-activated. I said sure, I have my interview next Tuesday.

Anyone know if you have to put your SSN on the application? I was under the impression you didn't have to do that since nobody I know puts it on the 4473 (Privacy Act 1973).

At this point, if they asked me if I ever cheated on an exam in high school I would answer it truthfully.

Don't want to give them any chance to reject my application

Do we have an idea of how many approvals went through LAPD? It seems like all of these permits are from LASD.

I'm wondering if LAPD is following AV's new mind set. Or if LAPDs process is still just a dead end

I’ve helped several people who went through LAPD prior to LASD. I delete PMs for security and I can’t recall how many. IIRC none were approved by LAPD.

As I’ve posted here within the past month take applying LAPD seriously. LASD will use their background check and GMC info when doing their own background check and GMC evaluation of you.

I am gonna keep reading backwards on this thread, but does anyone know if living in a bad area with increased gang violence/shootings is an acceptable GC? Seems like there’s more than the usual gang graffiti in my neighborhood and they seem to be crossing each other out and fighting over territory. A lot more shootings in the areas I frequent (grocery shopping, getting gas, etc.).

I also like to do some hikes with my wife and dog in semi-secluded areas. That was an unconfirmed GC I read a page or two back. I just don’t feel safe in my neighborhood walking my dog anymore, used to do 2 walks a day, now I have to go to a nicer area about 15 mins away.

We just got reports of people being issued for similar GCs. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes if you can afford to waste $30 and the time involved with trying.

We just got reports of people being issued for similar GCs. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes if you can afford to waste $30 and the time involved with trying.

Yellow is employment risks whereas shooting range is recreational activities risk (Light Green), and late night gas station or ATM are Daily risks (Dark Green). Support for Yellow comes from your employment, not the latter two.

So I guess this is what you’re asking: will they accept green GC claims without sufficient evidence to prove said claims? My guess is unlikely. Go for it now if you want, but why not wait to apply until you’ve had time to collect evidence sufficient to support those claims?

Anyone else experience a slow livescan clearance? Two weeks now. CA and FBI portion already clear, but firearms portion still in progress. What are those guys at the BOF doing with my record check?

Livescan cleared the other day per doj website including fbi but ccw unit said to be patient coz it takes a few weeks to get complete info from sacramento. Thats what they said. So ill just wait. Questiin is should i go ahead with training at this point.
