Hey guys, I turned in my app in-person at LASD WeHo on 6/29/22 (money order, so not sure when cashed). No call yet but worried I may have missed it with all the spam calls I get.

Any tips on how I can check on status? Is there an email... phone # to call... to check? Thanks!

Being that "good cause" is now moot, perhaps he still had good cause so was expedited.

It's possible? I applied before the Bruen in March of last year. Operating a small business as my GC. My interviewer read over my whole statement and just said "for self defense, right?" So I doubt GC has anything to do with it imo. I could be wrong, who knows.

I waited a year before my interview call. I mailed my application in March of last year and I got my call for interview last month. Someone on Reddit said they're roughly processing the same month you applied. Some get lucky obviously.

There is an email on LASD website. But all they will tell you is that your application was received and they're processing it in the order it was received.

I received the pick-up call today at 1035 from a private number. The Deputy told me to bring my D/L and $120.00 cert. check or money order. Picking up next Thursday 04/27. I pay the old amount, which makes me a little happy. All the best to everyone still waiting, what might seem an eternity.

Yes, we submitted on 02/07, and CCW confirmed on 02/10. I was hoping you would get the call too. I believe you will get the pick-up call this week. I bet this weekend. Hang tough, the call is coming in days. It will be 10 weeks on Friday, so this weekend the latest. Best.

I applied in October 2022 and my check was cashed within a couple days. I called the CCW office in February to make sure my app was received and the woman that answered was very nice and provided some good info. Apparently they only have 1 person inputting the paper apps into their computer system. She said I was a January applicant (even though I sent my app in in October) and they were currently working on July applicants. If it?s about 3 months from mailing the app to getting input into the system sounds like they were working on April submissions. This is all total speculation but maybe useful information for someone.

Just picked up today. They took me 5 mins early, and I was out the door 5 minutes after that. Reading the CCW conditions ahead saved time. Which by the way, man the way those are written they can revoke your license for really any reason. Glad to be done though.

so far i paid $33 for application and cashier's check fee, $140 for livescan, $175 for training, and another $173 coming soon

over $500 to be (barely) allowed to exercise a constitutional right

I agree... insane... but it looks like the average time between submission and call to interview is about 9.5 months. Hopefully I'm within striking distance. That's based on mail date... If I go by check cashed date I'm only at 8 months since.

Well boys and girls my journey is complete as I just picked up my CCW license. Process is very streamlined.
I do have to say 2 things and it may piss many of you off... 1) the letter they hand you really rubbed me the wrong way as I do not believe this right should ever be misconstrued as a privilege... It's not a driver license it's not a voting card, it's an amendment based on the constitution just like someone giving me the privilege to say what I want to say about anything... Folks would go crazy if they considered the 1st amendment a privilege that someone may grant you

2nd) And this one will get me into a lot of heat with y'all.. as I was there sitting in the lobby I gotta say some of the CCW interviewee's or even pickup folks terrified me.. common sense would say that when you are going into an interview (all be it we shouldn't have to) but what possesses you to show up wearing a full on basketball jumpsuit, sweats, warmup jacket and all, Bluetooth in your ear on the phone loud... All that was needed was a basketball and some sweat... Just ridiculous to not have enough respect for yourself. Even some of the youngsters there for either pickup or interview were suspect. Overweight, out of shape, dressed like they just got out of bed etc etc. Ive always believed that taking care of your mind and body leads you to make good decisions in life and that you care about your presentation and your life to work hard at being a decent human.i understand wanting to protect yourself and your loved ones BUT being in your 20s obese means you don't care about your own health and safety. Sorry

And yeah I do understand the stupidity of me saying on 1 hand this isn't a privilege and right next to it calling groups of people out...

I’m agree with you on people showing up for interviews or pick up in a presentable manner. Sadly, the younger generation don’t give a crap about appearances.
