Man, I need to get out and burn some smokeless myself. Burro sounds quick and easy. Hmm.

I will be taking my son and his new bride shooting at Apple Valley on Wed. I haven't asked him what he wants to shoot yet.

I seem to recall hearing that May 12th is MLC co-founder golfish's birthday!

            So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mark!

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I visited Phillips this morning, they had s nice supply of Xtream bullets.

I stopped by Gunslingers just to look around. They had a nice supply of hand guns and modern long guns.

I took a drive up San Gabriel canyon, both reservoirs are way down.

I sold some factory .357 /38sp rounds to a gentleman that just bought a nice Ruger GP100 or 101 and couldn't find any ammo for it. It felt good helping out a fellow shooter. I didn't rape him on the price either.

Next week we're going to visit some friends in Az and go to the north rim of the GC. I'm looking forward to this trip.

                  It's a good day

                    Happy Birthday, Mark!

We did go shooting today, and my new daughter-in-law did very well for a first time shooter. Michael started Erika off with a Taurus .22 pump and then went to a heavy barreled AR. It was only 50 yards but she was soon making center head shots on a silhouette.

Michael had to show off and start ringing the gongs at 200 and then 400 yards...even the grapefruit sized dueling tree paddles! He didn't miss once. In the picture, he is shooting my Cooper 204 Ruger but he was also hitting them 100% with my Tikka T# Lite in .243.

^^^^I sincerely hope neither of those young folks ever have to deal with an eye injury due to a leaking primer, blown case, etc. Some high quality shooting glasses might make a great gift.

Yep - I thought that after seeing the pictures. I actually had glasses for them in the ammo bag but forgot to make them wear them. My bad! My son should know better, too.

I actually have some small gunpowder tattoos on my face from an 81mm direct fire mortar that fired prematurely in Viet Nam so I definitely should have known better.

                          I hear ya!
Last year I was visiting a shooting range far away from here, and witnessed a Ka-Boom of a customized bolt rifle; peeled the barrel, blew shrapnel from the receiver, destroyed the stock, broke the stadia in the optic. The shooter had deep cuts in his firing hand, and powder marks all around the outline of his glasses, but NO eye damage. A kid on the shooting position six feet away caught a stock splinter in the face as well.
It was the second or third round fired, but he said it felt under powered.
His reloads, he thought he was using a stick powder (4895), but when another experienced reloaded pulled one of the bullets, it looked a lot like Bullseye pistol powder that the shooter had been using the day before in his .45 pistol.

I always wear eye protection for incidents just like that. And I have someone else look at my ammo before the bullets are seated, just in case. YMMV.

Well, I done did it. Went over to a pards house that was selling off some cowboy guns. I was looking for a Vaquero, but came home with a tuned and stroked 73 instead. Smooth doesn't begin to describe it.

Oh, and I bought his Dillon 650, too.

As Dan posted, we would like to see some PICS!
