On your Livescan form, find the "ATI" number and follow these directions:
If a requesting agency does not have results yet and digital Live Scan fingerprints were submitted, you may use the automated telephone system to
check on your submission. You will need the following information: (1) your
date of birth; and (2) the 10-digit Automated Transaction Identifier (ATI)
number that appears at the bottom of the Department of Justice form requesting Live Scan fingerprint background checks. The ATI number always appears in the following sequence: 1 LETTER; 3 NUMBERS; 3 LETTERS and 3 NUMBERS.
24-hour Automated Telephone Service Available: (916) 227-4557.The user formerly known as "han_cholo"Comment

At the bottom of the form that was the recipt. There is a ten digit number and letter combo on there.
It is the live scan form you had to give to the person performing the live scan.Comment

Applied March 19th, got the call that it was approved May 19th. I have training scheduled for this Friday and Monday and will be at the SJSO first thing Tuesday morning to pick up my permit. It was worth the wait to receive that call. FYI the call will come from a blocked # so if you tend to avoid those #'s you might want to answer.Comment

Wanted to say thanks to Rubicon for suggestions/summary of what to expect going into this. Had my appointment today, wanted to share the experience as well as a few observations. For what it's worth, I arrived almost 30 minutes ahead of my scheduled appt. time...they started the app/interview process as soon as I walked in. Very easy-going, straight forward and professional experience. While in the waiting room, the officer fielding phone calls was scheduling "earliest available" appointments into the end of June/early July. (Take that with a grain of salt: when I originally called for my appointment (03/14), I was given a ~06/18 appt....about 2 weeks after that, I received a phone call offering to move my appt. up to 05/28).
Interview process was approximately 10-12 minutes; as others have stated, it's more or less verbatim overview of the application questions...simple yes/no responses. Didn't even touch on the GCS other than reading back my own statement verbatim (PP/SD). Now onto the waiting game!Comment

Just be patient. We all want them to process everything "NOW", but there are very few people (3-4 last I checked) trying to process everything for everyone.Wanted to say thanks to Rubicon for suggestions/summary of what to expect going into this. I didn't think I implied anything about being impatient...it's very obvious that they are swamped. I just wanted to relay what was heard and observed during my appt. today (including those who have yet to get an appt...) in regards to what was being said for appointment time frames.
Forgot to mention: the interviewing officer told me directly that he and one other officer are the only ones handling interviews (the other officer was currently on PTO), and that he was handling 10-15 application interviews today alone! It's definitely a busy time @ SJSO!Comment
