Yesterday was eight weeks. The interviewer told me to call to check if I had not heard back in eight weeks. I called yesterday and was told that they still had not gotten the letter from DOJ on me and that it could be a week or more after that for the Sheriff to sign it. The guy was very nice and told me that at least he didn't have bad news for me. He also said that DOJ is backlogged due to the influx of CCW apps. I guess they wait to get a snail mail verification from DOJ

I'm at 2 months as well. Called to check and they told me they have not recieved my doj paperwork yet. I didn't have to take my livescan as I had already taken it with them in the past. I don't have an ATI number to check the status with the DOJ either.

I had a DUI "arrest" which I listed on my app but the DA dropped all charges so no conviction. I still got approved.

How long ago was your arrest? Did they ask you about it in the interview? If they approve that, then I would think that they would have a hard time denying it based on a speeding ticket or two.

Well, looks like sheriff Moore will continue on as sheriff. Let's hope he continues his current willingness to approve CCW's for those law abiding residents that apply with self defense as cause. Time will tell.

Seems that 2 months + a week or two is the norm for getting a response. Got my approval 2months 2 days after interview.

So, now that the election is over and Moore has won, has anyone get their approval?

Even with Moore's history, I would be shocked if all of the sudden he stops approving CCW's because the election has passed. Keep in mind they brought in additional staff and changed the good cause requirement within their documents to allow self defense as good cause.

I say CCW approvals continue unless something negative happens with the Peruta case. And if he did suddenly stop, he sure would have some explaining to do about all of the permits he gave out leading up to the election.
