Yes, day one was a bit of "classroom" instruction about legal stuff and then rest of the day working on stance, holstering, drawing, sight picture, trigger control and a bit of target work.

    Day One Pictures: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...2384466&type=1

Day two was almost exclusive tactical "real world" training. We worked on shooting from several different positions (kneeling, sitting, sliding, etc), off hand work, target recognition & assessment, we did knife drills to test for our each individual reaction/draw time, worked around barriers and towards the end of the day got an introduction/training into such techniques as clearing rooms and the such.

Like I said before, I learned a huge amount over the two day period.

      CCW gun change

went into the sheriffs office today to submit a gun to my application and take one off. They are currently working on applications for the week of April 7. Mine was the 16th so I should be in the next week or two!

Wow. That's huge for a 16 hour CCW course! My class was with a highly recommended local instructor and the first day was all classroom stuff, much of which was pretty basic handgun safety stuff and then legal stuff which was very valuable. The second day was spent mostly on the range practicing stance, grip, holster work, some practice shooting, and then qualifications. Many people did not qualify all their guns. Those having trouble were mostly revolver users and guys who had trouble qualifying with subcompacts at 15 yards. Our qualifying was very similar to Grey Ops (we only had 15 seconds at 3 yards). There was an additional charge for each gun qualification plus a range fee. We did not get into any of the tactical stuff. I would have really like that.

Before checking this thread I called to check my status since I had my interview May 9. Woman who answered said they're working on mid-April apps right now and only take interviews once a week to clear the backlog. I guess I have another 3-4 weeks to wait :/ Super annoying since I'm pregnant (early still) and I want to get my training in before anyone notices and tells me I can't shoot.

You can do the training before. I interviewed may 9th also but have already done my training once they say I'm aproved I go with the certificate and I'm good to go.

Went in today to add my 3rd serial number to my application so there is no delay if/when approved.

Was told that all my DOJ/FBI paperwork was complete and they are just waiting on the Sheriff department to process it.

He said they are currently working on applications from 4/7, I applied on 4/28.

If they are only on 4/7, that's about 106 days (15 weeks).

I also overheard him taking an appointment and the first available they had was 8/25 for new applications.

Did the exact same thing yesterday. Was told the same exact thing and that everything looked good. They also accepted my certificate for the 16 hour CCW class, even though they normally wait to accept that certificate until after you have been approved.

Mine was approved a month ago. I had my interview on the 2nd and I can't believe they have only moved up one week. Instead of giving a bunch of interviews so quick. They should have stuck to the one interview day a week. Then they might have been able to keep up.

Has anyone tried or successfully put a SSE pistol on their San Joaquin permit? I was thinking of getting an Xds 45 but only is SJSO has been allowing SSE.

I have two SSEs on my permit. Moore doesn't seem to care about that aspect at the moment.

SJ county permit app does not state that we need to declare our ccw permit during law enforcement contact. However, on the website it does state this.
My class didn't mention if this was required. Not sure if other classes did.

There have been a couple of threads started about recent LEO interaction and thought this was relevant.
