If your security clearance had an FBI fingerprinting check involved with it then it could definitely help speed up the process. When I had my CA permit interview I had just gone through the FBI fingerprinting check for my AZ non-resident permit. My CA permit from interview to call only took 46 days. Deputy Verral told me it would probably be fast because of that.

I'll have them ready then, appreciate it!

Yeah, I had was applying to a few different federal jobs and they required all the fingerprinting and everything and they all came back good to go, hopefully it helps me out.

I emailed SBCGO with a few questions, hopefully I can get some insight on here.

                1. Since I have not used a different last name/plan to use my wife’s gun on my permit do I have to still provide my Marriage Certificate?

                2. I just moved into my new home in SB County and do not have any utility bills yet, can I still apply now as long as I have the bills when I come in for my interview?

                3. I only have a copy of my “Deed of Trust” for my home, is that the same as a Grant Deed To fulfill the (property tax bill/grant deed/rental agreement) paperwork?

                4. For the traffic violations, I do not have exact dates is an estimated month and exact year fine?

                5. For the questions asking about the traffic citations/moving violations/car accidents in your CCW video on your website it says to only list instances from the last 5 years. On the “Pre-Background Interview” it asks “if I have EVER gotten a traffic citations/etc..” should I say yes and list the few I had more than 5 years ago? I have not received an citations/been in an accident in the last 5 years.
                o Speed Contest (2009 or 2010)
                o Speeding (April 2016)
                Would these violations disqualify me?

                6. In the pre-background interview question 38 and 39 asks if I have ever had to use physical force against someone and if I have ever had to defend myself? I was jumped by older kids in middle school(2005 or 2006) and I had to defend myself against a bully in high school (2009 or 2010)
Would having these incidents disqualify me?

                7. On the SBC CCW Application it asks for traffic violations in the past 5 years my most recent one was of April 2016, should I list that? Then it asks if I have been convicted of any criminal offense, I had plead guilty to the Speed Contest(2010) ticket and had to do community service. Is that considered a “criminal offense” that should be listed?

                3. On the CCW Application it asks to list any arrest with or without disposition. I had an arrest for vandalism/graffiti while I was in high school(2009/2010) as a minor that didn’t result in any charges/punishment. I was going through a background check to join the USAF so I had called the police department that made the arrest and they said there was no record of it.
Do you think this incident would disqualify me? I am hoping that enough time has passed and that I have kept myself out of trouble since that I won’t be disqualified.

                4. In the Pre-Background Interview questionnaire it asks if I had listed all my past residences in the last 10 years, but there wasn’t enough slots to list it in the CCW application, should I go ahead and list the rest in the PBI form? Also, I do not remember the actuals street name and addresses for when I lived in the dorms on base while in the USAF, I remember the Dorm Building Numbers and my Room number would that be okay to put down?

o “Bldg. #### Rm. ###, Random AB, APO, AP 96264”

I would appreciate any insight. I did email SBCGO with these questions last night and am waiting for a response, but I figured why not ask on calguns too.

Your call on this one, both of these are more than 5 years ago.

I believe getting a speeding ticket is a citable infraction, not a crime. Unless you got a DUI or something severe. Plus it was more than 5 years ago.

So long as you didn't change your sir name when getting married and you're not planning on using any of her firearms you will not need to show your marriage certificate.

                    2. I just moved into my new home in SB County and do not have any utility bills yet, can I still apply now as long as I have the bills when I come in for my interview?

Yes, you'll have plenty of time to get these together.

                    3. I only have a copy of my “Deed of Trust” for my home, is that the same as a Grant Deed To fulfill the (property tax bill/grant deed/rental agreement) paperwork?

                    Your mortgage bill will work.

                    4. For the traffic violations, I do not have exact dates is an estimated month and exact year fine?

$5 bill will get you a print out of your driving record for the last 5 years. $10 will get you 10 years.

                    5. For the questions asking about the traffic citations/moving violations/car accidents in your CCW video on your website it says to only list instances from the last 5 years. You definitely need to list the speed contest. That is a misdemeanor charge. What was the out come of that? Yes, if convicted it could hurt.

Would having these incidents disqualify me?

No, I wouldn't even list those.

Yes it is. A speed contest is a misdemeanor charge.

                    3. On the CCW Application it asks to list any arrest with or without disposition. Don't know how they will look at it. I had something from when I was 16. I listed and there was no issue with it.

I would just list the base name and indicate that you lived in base housing.

I would appreciate any insight. I did email SBCGO with these questions last night and am waiting for a response, but I figured why not ask on calguns too.

                                Great!

Maybe I'll get mine next week then, if the renewal process time is the same for me. I turned mine in a week after yours.
