A few people have had good luck with getting it pretty quickly. Someone posted that in a recent class they were told that they've been doing them in about 4-5 months.

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

      - the bottle-neck is now livescan
      - my wife applied online, got the interview THE SAME WEEK
      - interview was like 15 minutes for her in and out
      - deputy said livescan could take 'up to 6 months'
      - she's waiting now...

      - for me it took about 9 months.. start to permit..

Is the delay in the livescan because they (SBCSO) does it? I ask because in OC we can go to any vendor we want.

          Big Jake,

I cant comment on the reasons why. It just is what it is at the moment. But it is relatively quick...

The long poles in the tent are:
                1. Background check, some take longer than othere because of a name that is somewhat common.
                2. Employer verification- most employers do not give it top priority.

No, at this time you are only allowed to carry a maximum of a 10-round magazine until further notice

Because idiots had to keep calling and pushing the issue... standard capacity mags legally purchased are legal to use... but the idiots had to call and force the issue.... Now there is policy. STOP CALLING, YOU IDIOTS!

                    Regarding the employment verification;
I have found one of my direct managers that is willing to sign and fill out the paperwork. Will they send it directly to HR? I work for a very large company that will definitely drag their feet on this, if even fill it out at all.

Could someone please explain the employer verification? What is that? We don't have that in OC!

It's just a few questions, how long you worked there, is there any reason they know of that aren't responsible and honest etc.

It seems to me, been a while, but I provided the address and name of the individual.
But my old company, did I mention I am retired, is huge. My boss worked remotely, but his mailing address was in a high rise in St. Louis.
Mail is delivered via a robotic mail cart. They wound up calling him, but only after waiting 4 months.

Hopefully your situation is somewhat easier for th he manager to get his mail in a timely manner.
Side note: I discussed at length the CCW permit and why with my boss, it prompted him to get his own CCW.

Yes, I did read it. Seems like an odd requirement when so many agencies don't require it but ok. I'll pass the information on to my buddy. Thanks for the replies everyone!
