IDK, so long as your permit hasn't expired I would just wait for it in the mail.

Though if you waited to do everything with only a month for them to get all their work done to issue the renewal............. Well, maybe you should have turned in your paperwork earlier.

Both my brother and I turned in our paperwork 90 before our permits expired. We both got them in 4-5 weeks. Though at the same time that I posted our time line someone else posted that they got theirs in about a week.

That being said, I'm not a Doctor, so I have no patients (read patience). The hardest thing is waiting for that letter in the mail.

Took my wife almost a month to get her renewal after dropping everything off couple months ago.

Got the email April 1st.
Paperwork and class by the 11th
Turned in Paperwork and money orders the 15th.
Got it yesterday.
Now to set the reminder to swap permits in 2.5 months.

Added a new pistol.
Received my permit today 5/17/21.

If you are getting close to expiration I would sent a email.

Has anybody went to Apple Valley Gun Club for requalification lately? Just wondering how it went. I have never been there, just driven by.

I did my renewal there. They have a great system & get you through quickly. Everyone is friendly & helpful. Just leave your guns cased, unloaded, & in the car until someone comes to check them.

During my 2019 renewal class, the SBSD deputies encouraged the class to tell other people to apply for a permit using that as the good cause statement.

Apply as soon as you move in. It will be a few months before your interview.

Qualifying is super easy. You'll shoot 5 rounds, reload and shoot 5 more rounds. This will be done at 5 yards on a B27 target. You will need to put 8 of the 10 rounds in the 8 ring.
