Finally applied today but when I pressed submit on the application I got the following error message : The value in field SSN is already in database.

Anyone have that happen before? I think I might have accidentally double clicked the submit button so the first one went through but then the second one gave me the error message. But if that's the case then I don't know what the next step is. Do I call them to set an interview? Will they email me? Was I supposed to do it after I submitted the app?

Were you able to select your interview date on the next screen right after clicking submit? That's generally the next thing you'll see after clicking submit, you'll be able to select from a small list of available interview dates and times. Check your spam and junk folder of the email you listed as well to make sure the confirmation email didn't go there. If you don't see anything I'd email Sarah in the CCW unit at CCWInfo@sbcsd.org and let her know what happened, and the error you saw.
She will definitely be able to help you get it straightened out and get you scheduled if you're not already.

If you have never applied before then it was a glitch.
As ArmyVet1 recommends check all of your email boxes then drop a note to Sarah.

Does anyone know if we can do our range qual before the interview to help speed up the process? I think Riverside County lets you do that (used to live in corona)

You will still have class time after the interview.
Doing the range prior to the interview won't really gain much and there may be a time limit on range info.

Glad you were able to get that straightened out and get scheduled. I just got a response back from Sarah after asking if applicants could go to the range and qualify AFTER the interview but BEFORE the class. She responded No, the entire class will be scheduled for you.

I’m not sure if they’re going back to the Sheriff’s Dept doing the initial qualification and maybe just using the 4 external range locations for renewal. Time will tell.

Sitting in the class now at the sheriff's office. There is a good 60-70 people here.

Interview was back in November.

Took just a tad over 5 months to get the call from Sarah last week.

Submitted application back in Aug 11th (I think)

Interview was on Nov 16th

Class was today.

Over all, took about 8 months.

Just need to stop by the range on Saturday to qualify and turn in my range card.

Prado in Chino.

Going this Saturday to qualify and turn in my card on Monday if I don't get stuck at work.

Looks like at the time of this post they were still farming out the range part.
Not sure if a change happened since then.

Just went back and looked.

Chipperchoi posted LIVE class at the HQ then was going to Prado range.

May have changed in the last week or so.
