Good question on the panic/anxiety meds, but if I had to guess that might be a problem. Pretty sure they don't want you walking around high on Xanax or Valium and carrying a weapon. You might want to go to your doc and get an evaluation as to getting off of your meds and dealing with your issues in another way. Of course the flip side of that is if you aren't able to handle the panic/anxiety when you aren't on the meds, then perhaps carrying a firearm isn't a great idea either.
I had my interview yesterday and the pot question came up. I answered honestly and said I'd never tried it. He said "You never tried it, even when you were younger?" My answer was "No. It was never my thing". He looked up at me and raised his eyebrow. Not sure if that is a bad sign but it was the truth.
I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.

I have my interview next month. Any other insight you can share during your interview?

      TIA.

        CCW Renewal Quals

Went to Prado this morning. I was not notified by SBSD but took the chance anyway to avoid it getting busy/overbooked. Was in and out in about 30-mins. Details Below.

        Check-in at the pistol range.
There is a cardboard sign that says "CCW 0900-1500 Line Up Here"
RSO will hand you a range card. Fill out both sides. Have your firearms make, model, and serial number handy so you're not pulling out your guns in the lobby.
Pay $35 fee then RSO will direct you where to go.

At the 5-yard line, place all your guns on the table, unchambered with the slides/cylinder locked open.
Load all your magazines while you wait for the RSO.
Wait for RSO, they'll give you more instructions.
Shoot 5 - Reload - Shoot 5 for each firearm.

RSO will fill out the rest of the card then you're done.

Also looks like Apple Valley Gun Club is doing it by appointment.

I think you'll be fine, it's a good thing to not smoke dope.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Just make sure you have all you i's dotted and t's crossed so the process goes faster rather than you having to go back and make any corrections.

The officer I dealt with seemed like he didn't want to be there. Not a dick but just kinda meh.

The process is weird because of the Covid mask wearing. I kept asking the officer to repeat himself...he's wearing a mask, were between bullet proof glass, I'm wearing a mask. He seemed a bit annoyed but he was talking fast and I couldn't understand him. Just go in relaxed.

Same here when I did my interview over 4yrs ago, same with my brother last year. We were straight edge kids, genuinely never tried it, we were more interested in twisting the dirtbike throttle...

I went to Prado yesterday after lunch. Smooth as silk.
Couldn't believe the two targets on station 1 & 2... If they were 10' farther back 50% wouldn't have been in the torso.
I felt like a looser with shots creeping into the 9 ring as I was pushing to the left. Going from P938 - P239 - 1911 and not reaching far enough on to the trigger.

Also you take your 4 hr. class on line now..

Sometimes I wonder if they even do it if your paper trail is strong enough. I talked to all my neighbors that they could have possibly asked and they all said no sheriff dept. personnel ever contacted them. Same for my GF.

Nobody ever showed up for mine either. Ive lived at one sole address my entire life, And ive been here longer than 90% of my block.

That was an issue filling out the prior residence list, as it says "do NOT include your current add", so i turned it in blank. Det Mason questioned it, and i had to explain.

Not to mention them being short handed now. Just curious, as I get along great with my neighbors. I was hoping not to 'advertise' the fact I'll be CC'ing.

I lived 30 years then 6 years a couple miles away.
They do talk and or verify by other means. Rest assured they know where you live.

I don't think they actually disclose the reason for the visit... pretty sure if they do it they just tell the neighbor it's part of a "routine background check."
