With a firearm addition mine arrived about a month after I dropped off my range card. Was in my PO Box the day before my expiration date.
Yeah, July 1st. We shall see, hopefully mine will be like yours, just in the nix of time.

There has been a lot of mark-up on guns lately and they sell out immediately. I was waiting for the pistol to become available at a fair price. I submitted my application in April of last year. I missed my original interview date and was forced to reschedule. That postponed the interview by a couple months.

Since Covid the process has been much longer than the normal processing time. I think his interview was 60 days ago.
Right, my actual interview date was mid April.

          My timeline -

          Initial application - 9/11/20

Initial interview - 1/12/21 (Postponed due to Covid)

          Rescheduled interview - 4/20/21

          Received the call - 6/2/21

          Class - 6/9/21 (43 days in background)

          Qualification - 6/11/21

Turned in Range Card - 6/11/21

          Permit received - 6/18/21 (7 days later)

In total - 9 months and 1 week from app to permit received. Not bad at all considering 3 months of that was due to the Covid postpone. Huge thanks as well to the SB County CCW unit.
Congratulations man! I qualified on Friday and turned in my range card Friday. Like being a kid again I'll be watching the mailbox.
I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.

You 'missed' your original interview date?

Sorry but in over a year you should have been able to square away firearms unless you are looking for a very, very odd one.

Set up a informed delivery account so you can see what is in the mail each day rather than hiding in the bushes waiting for the mail truck!!!!

Quick Update: I just cancelled my ccw course that was scheduled for July 17th. I was told that this was the last class under the COVID policy period and that there is no specified future date for the next course; once it is known I should be next in line.

I misplaced my birth certificate in the wrong folder. I showed up for the interview and was told I would have to reschedule, which put me at the back of the line. The anticipation waned so I put my ccw at the back of my mind, like I'll have to do again, thanks to my course rescheduling. I wasn't actively looking for a new pistol. I happened to see a g19 -in stock- that was being sold at msrp, so I jumped on it. I contacted some local gun shops and the prices they were asking were outrageous.... $1200 for a consigned od green... no thanks

Just had my interview today. They said I'll get a letter or email in 1 to 9 months. Is that a rejection? Because don't they call when background is done?

Did you give them the money order and get your picture taken?

                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Then you should be good to go. It's taking quite a bit longer than normal right now. The letter or email will be setting up your training.

If you don't have all the guns you want on your permit, time to get shopping. Nine months will be here before you know it.
