Doing my renewal paperwork. It says I need my marriage license? I didn't need it two years ago, is this new? I don't have it and have no idea how long it'll take to get a copy...

That requirement was put in place last year. It had been discussed a number of times in here.

Well... thanks. I only check in on the thread once in a while so I am sure I miss a lot. I'm not even married, I just wondered why they would need that information.

If you aren't married it doesn't apply to you. Why call then?

Okay. As stated in my previous post, I wonder why they need the information. Whether it applies to me or not doesn't matter. I am happy to know as much as I can about the process. However, if I do remarry, it will be useful to know. Thanks for concern about my motivations.

                    Where were you married?
If in SB County you can have a copy in a matter of a few minutes from the County Clerk LINK.

Thankfully in San Berdoo, my wife lost the certificate after she got her license and SS card. I'm taking off next Friday to go get a new copy. It'll go into my safe after that haha

Just a heads up for residents of Ontario.

I recently heard that Ontario PD was issuing permits. I didn't know anyone personally that had gotten one from them and still don't.

However, on a private Facebook group someone from Ontario posted a picture of his permit. He is a business owner and used that and self defense as his good cause statement. I asked him if when he interviewed if he got a feeling that they would issue for self defense alone? He said that he did get that feeling.

He also said that it only took him about 4 months start to finish. If you've just started the process with SBSO you might want to give Ontario PD a try. Don't give up your spot in line with the sheriff's office but apply with Ontario and see if you're lucky.

                          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

                                Application: 05/31/2017
                                Interview: 01/08/2018

Interview was super easy. Photoed, Fingerprinted and submitted documents. The detective did not even ask for "good cause" and was super nice.

Hope hear back from them soon.
