How the history goes is unknown.
They do send a letter to your current employer. It's just a character reference thing. Make sure that he (or you) do NOT check the "CCW Required" box... the permit is not valid FOR employment. It is valid for you to carry while working, but they don't want you using the permit to be an armed guard.
They do a neighborhood check... they no longer ask for personal references. They will chat with a couple of your neighbors.. it's more a "Do you REALLY live there?" kind of thing... a lot of people living in LA have cabins in the mountains and try to use them. #1 reason for denial in SB is people not being valid residents of the county.
On the speeding tickets... LIST THEM!
The application and interview are more an honesty check than anything. It is better to admit to something that they don't know about than to try to hide something that they MAY know about.
They want you to inform them of ALL interactions with LE... not just tickets... and they WILL know about your tickets even though they aren't on your DMV report.
The ticket for 100+ within the last 5 years *may* be a problem as it could be used to show a recent-history pattern of casual disregard for the law.
Apply.
Of course, apply... the worst they can do is say "no", and if there is anything during the interview or in their pre-investigation that would disqualify you, they won't bother to send you to livescan or take your money orders, so it won't cost you more than a day off work.
Postal Money Orders only
