Also my driving record, credit and employment history aren't so great. Will this hinder me from getting the CCW ?

I wanna apply, but i'm hesitant because of that.

    Thanks !
Good cause is still SD. They just don't want you to put down two words. Expand on why you feel you need to be able to defend yourself.

How bad is your driving record? Any DUI's?

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

      First, thanks for helping man.

So since nothing happened in which I had to file reports, so mainly I want it for self defense. So just to elaborate more on the self defense part would be acceptable?

For my driving record, i've had 0 DUI's & 3 speeding tickets in pasts 5 years (one ticket was going over 100). But none of the tickets are on my record, I've managed to get them off. So i'm not even sure if I should list them.

For my credit, I have delinquent payments and bad track due to life going sideways at that time.

Great then. Thanks ! Curious about employment history. Mine is't the best, 25+ jobs in last 5 years, during that time i've established a home business and now been at it with that for 2 years.

Will they use the employers as a point of reference? Also who will they contact for reference, i've heard they need to contact 3 people not sure if that employers of references you give them.

They do want 10 years of employment records. I'm not sure how much the long list of employers will affect it.

As for your good cause you can use things like the San Bernardino terrorist attach, political unease, change in laws that will put criminals back on the street sooner. You might also be able to use your business if you carry a lot of cash or a lot of valuable inventory.

Go down to the DMV and get a 10 year pull on your license. That one may show different things than the regular report. If the 10 year report shows more stuff click on my username and then the option to find all threads started by me. You'll find one on how to clean up your driving record.

Honestly, I don't know that those issues would factor in much (...the exception being your driving record; the department does check that, and they will continue to check periodically after the CCW is issued). It's a different type of background check than what peace officers, for example, are subjected to. I'm very familiar with both. You can P/M me with any specific questions.

Need some help. My wife wants to go with me and take the car shopping while I am in the class, only problem is that I wont have anywhere to store the guns while I am in there. Any ideas on what to do?

Ask one of the Range Deputies to hold it for you. Make sure you cable lock the case.

You may want to call the CCW office and clear this up before you get to range day.

I wasn't sure if that was an option. I was wondering what they would do if I were to ride my motorcycle as I wouldnt have anywhere to store it there either. I will follow up with a phone call to the office tomorrow. Its kinda last minute as my range day is this saturday.

I know for a fact that they have done it. It doesn't hurt to call though. Good luck man.

Did the CCW renewal class today.
^it was a good class with great instructor (CPL. Mason).
^Main take away points... don't get complacent and get additional training.

About the last hour of the class, Sheriff McMahon stopped in and talked to the class.

He thanked everyone for being CCW permit holders and urged everyone to be active in politics.
^He made a quick mention about people needing to join the NRA and Calguns to keep up-to-date on proposed gun laws.

He mentioned about the increase in crime in the High Desert area, which was a result of SB109 & Prop 47.

He also mentioned that they (Sheriff Dept.) was in the process of securing five range facilities in order to do CCW qualifications/modifications and that there are currently a little over 6800 active permit holders, which should be at around 7000 by the end of the year.

In this case, there was no error, so using a caliber correction would technically be perjury.

Cleanest way to do it is a "Pawn and Return"... 10 day wait and DROS applies, Baboosh can do them at 2AZone. There is a small fee in addition to the $25 DROS, but the gun is then 100% clean and correct in AFS.
