hmm, so, since I'm an Upland Resident is it an automatic no with the new Chief?

My Interview isn't till November but reading that kinda pulled the wind outta my sails

Upland stopped issuing when the new chief showed up. He came over from LAPD and brought the same mentality with him. Though from what I've heard he is renewing those that already had one before he took the job. And I'm happy to say that I helped about 9 Upland residents get their CCW from the old chief.

Thing that pisses me off is that after I had already gone through the interview process with SBSD I found out that Ontario issues. Not sure what their good cause is but by that time I wasn't going to try and find out.

From what I've heard yes.

I've heard that they are looking for any reason not to renew their existing permits. If you forget to cross your T's and dot your I's they will use that against you.

Is your interview in November with the city or county?

The weekly E-Mail reminders say from *@sbcsd.org, so I can only assume it's for San Bernardino County.

From your info I truly hope it is :/

EDIT: on the SBCSD FAQ website for CCW it says the interview will be conducted at 655 Third Street IN San Bernardino - so hopefully I can get around the City of Upland all together.

Here's where I'm at:

Application: Mid Feb
Interview: July 5th

Sheriff talked to my neighbors today! Two weeks from the interiew to neighborhood visit seems pretty fast to me. Additionally, I didn't realize the that the Sheriff interviewing the neighborhood would be in a uniform and in a regular squad car. I figured it would've been the officer who interviewed me. Boy did i get it wrong!!

As I was taking out the trash, one of my neighbors approached me to tell me he spoke to the Sheriff. He was really pleased with himself! Why I don't know! The other neighbor (who was also interviewed) was watering her lawn and asked the Sheriff if she was getting a ticket for watering! LOL! My neighbors had fun!

Does everybody just meet at institution road now for the class and the shooting? They don't do the class in san bernardino then send you to devore anymore?

It looks like they are mixing it up from one class to the next. In June it was at Institution. SBSD is keeping the attendees on their toes.

You guys are confusing the "beep" out of me! There is another San Bernardino Sheriff range and besides Institution Road? Even though it say San Bernardino, I kinda thought it was more in the Devore area.

Are these renewals or new issues?

Renewals have always been given at HQ or one of the satellite stations, then take a trip to Devore if you are making a modification.

New licensees are a one-day class... used to be Devore or AVGC, but now only Devore.
They don't make you go to 3rd St for class and Devore to shoot on the same day.

picked up my permit yesterday!!! timeline:
applied 1/21/2016
interview 10/11/2016
range 6/17/17
permit available 7/19/17
Cant thank you guys enough for all your help i really appreciate it even from those who were aggravated with my questions [emoji6][emoji106].....
P.S. as of june 17th all range and class for new applicants is at devore on institution.....

Actually it is in SB County nearer Muscoy. Devore is at the 15/215 interchange.

There have been some initial app classes that were 160 students so they split them up. Half did the range then classroom.
