    Sweet.

Looks like they're getting caught up on the range backlog.

Hey I am getting my first handgun soon(10 day waiting period) and was wondering what steps I have to take to get a concealed carry in San Bernardino County, specifically in Joshua Tree. I have done a lot of research but find so much conflicting and outdated information. I would like to know where to apply, every single thing I will need, an estimate on all the costs associated, and an estimate on how long the process will take. Links to sources will be much appreciated. Thank you.

            Process can be 6-12 months.
Must be SB Co resident, no issues with alcohol or weed.
            Apply, interview, shoot, get permit.

"Personal protection" is an acceptable good cause statement, but they want you to flesh it out to a paragraph.

There will be a neighborhood check to confirm residency and a form letter sent to your employer asking about your character.

I am currently unemployed but I am attending a local community college, not sure if the letter could be by a family member.

Thanks for the link. and wow it takes a long time, I mostly want to just carry it in my pack when I go hiking.
Edit: And I will apply soon as I have my handgun next Thursday.

Unclear what you mean by uncommon, but I saw this done by another Cal Gunner in this thread.
My interview date went from 5-18-17 to 1-14-17....

Don't wait. Do it now. You won't need a firearm until range time (6-12 months out).

Unless your family member is your employer there is no need for the SBSO to send them a letter.

As a 'college student' you really should have been able to go to the CCW site a figure it out.

So I called Rancho Cucamonga police department and was told that there was no special expedite process for a Rancho resident in terms of CCW permits. Can someone provide more info on how to handle this? This is in regards to the interview date.

I think you'll get that answer from the department any way you contact them.

My advice is to go shooting and have fun. With any luck you'll get that magical call telling you your interview date has been moved up. If not you'll still be having fun and know that you will have a CCW permit before long.

                                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
