On the time after your initial. Most take somewhere around 30 days. As fast as two weeks, and as long as almost two months. If it's be more than 2 months, then I'd contact them. Otherwise, just chill.

I am aware of the turn around time, I did read the whole thread. It is just so inconsistent. some people have a approval within a week and others wait a month or two.

Just got an email from SSD with the approval! About darn time!! Hahaha now it's time for the LiveScan wait 😁

New here, but thought I'd share my timeline for my CCW.

Initial interview 9/11/14 (and told to go ahead and go through my class, which I did). Livescan email came in 10/16/14 and I completed that the very next day. It's like my 3rd livescan, so not too worried. And. Here. I. Sit. Waiting patiently.

I did call in 3 weeks ago, little voice said not to email Amber. They double checked to verify no email had been sent out to me. Was told the big wigs were to come in that day and hopefully should hear something soon. And to be patient. But, grrrr! It's been 25 weeks today since I started this adventure! I'm getting anxious/concerned!

It'd be nice if there was an status check website. It seems like most of the hard work is done already, with the appointment system.

Part of my concern is wondering if an email was sent, but didn't arrive for whatever reason (as actually happened to some applicants a while back). If a status check website was available, I'd at least know that I didn't miss the email.

I usually counsel folks to be patient, but this is too long.

At this point, have you checked the automated LiveScan results phone line to ensure all results have been received by DOJ? Do that first, and record the dates of completions. Then, call the CCW unit and emphasize the LiveScan was done over 4 months ago. Specifically ask if they have received the LiveScan report from the OAG and ask to confirm that it is or is not in your file.

Be nice; the staff really do want to help.

If it's not there, then you'll have to use the DOJ contact information to locate your status.

I had no idea I could check my Livescan. It was completed 10/22, so that was fast. I will be calling the CCW people again.

I have better luck before noon. I believe their lunch is 12-130. If all else fails I would just walk into the office. After 25 weeks I would definitely do that.

The office is basically closed Fridays, but the guy answering phones took my info and is giving it to the head guy and hopefully should hear back Monday. Wish they did that when I called before. At least he agreed it has been way too long!

You now have traction, next comes perseverance. Do not leave this to "hopefully should hear back Monday". Monday morning, at 10:00, call them back. You know they are busy, so you are just following up on Friday's call. I'm sure you took down the name of the person to whom you spoke, right?

I never got notified for my approval or when they received my livescan. I had to email them both times, they claimed they emailed me, but I never saw it.

Shoot them an email with your name and drivers license info. They respond pretty quick.

OK, good news. The detectives got right on it! Bad news. My fingerprints were rejected. (I remember her having issues doing it, too, so I wasn't too surprised). They have to mail a hard copy letter w/instructions to me to go get fingerprinted again. And they apologized and said not to worry, my file is still open, etc. I was pleasant about it and we joked around. I guess they had a lady's who applied in July and it got sent to Orange County and Orange County just figured that one out, I think, this morning! So, it's not just me. LOL
