Is that 'normal' while they are processing, or, should I conclude something is off the rails?

Might be a valid conclusion. I recall when I checked, response was something on the lines of "still in process".

Thank you, sir. Of course my next question is: now what? <sigh>

I pinged the Livescan operator to see what they had to say. I'm keeping my fingers x'd for now, but not feeling particularly optimistic.

On the optimistic side, the phone system is known to suck. It reported "still in process" even after my IA had received the results. Maybe its declined further to complete uselessness?

Also, make sure you're entering the DOB s as a two digit month, two digit day, and a four digit year (01/01/1980).

          Update (good news):
I pinged my Livescan guy / CCW instructor who resolved the mystery.
His input of the ATI being "3 numbers and then 3 letters and then 3 numbers" helped resolve that what I thought was a 'zero', was in fact the letter "o".

Now I'm "in process"....which, while slow, is better than being lost in the system!

Ah, the old 0 vs o!

There's a very high chance you will be bumped, I got bumped 3 times.

I'm in the same boat as you, interview 9/25/17! I'm optimistic that it'll get moved up, and will start my live scan 3-4 months prior.

                      Curious: bumped sooner or later?

My instructor noted that I might be able to get an earlier appt by nicely letting them know that I had all my req's in place (livescan, training, etc). That was back in Oct. I did, but never heard a peep back!

My app't is/was scheduled for end of this month, so at this point I'm not expecting a pull-in.

If bumped, it would be for a sooner appointment. People change their mind, decide they wouldn't qualify, move, etc., so appointments open up.

Getting your training or LiveScan ahead of time will help with the process, but won't help you get an appointment any sooner.

Thanks for the insight. I'm going to wait until next month for my live scan and training. If I don't get bumped I want to make sure my live scan doesn't expire before my original appt date. I'm hopeful I will get bumped into mid summer.

Not bumped, bumped up. Happens a lot. Mine did, then I put it off for a year. Long enough for the peruta decision to get reversed. LOL

The LiveScan doesn't have an expiration date. Once you're scanned OCSD is notified of any subsequent arrests. That's why we don't need to get scanned again when we renew.
