Looking over the OCSD application form and terms of license, I developed a couple questions about the wording. I hope they are common sense answers, but never know what to expect from govt forms.

The first says the firearm must not be altered from the original approved design. Does that mean no tritium or aftermarket sights, magazine floor plate finger extension, aftermarket trigger?

The forms also say no possessing any equipment or attachments to the firearm not specifically approved as part of the license. Does this include Crimson Trace laser sights, or is it meant to cover suppressors, etc?

Lastly, in several places they talk about denial or revocation of a ccw for taking medications. presumably they mean medications that interfere with safe use of the firearm and mental acuity, but just using the term 'medications' is pretty open ended. Asthma inhalers, blood pressure and blood thinners, diuretics, nitro tablets are all medications, and I couldnt find clarification at the web site.

Has anyone run into issues on any of these questions? Thanks for any feedback - really hope I am just overanalyzing the form, but I would like to find out before scheduling an interview.

Those things you mention are ok. They used to measure trigger pull. They don't anymore, but it's generally thought that if you're above five pounds you're ok (that's what it used to be when they measured.)

The latter. However, they've gone back and forth on lasers. Someone pointed out that the most recent policy doesn't mention anything about lasers. Your milage may vary.

Don't worry about it unless it's something mood altering or a psych drug.

              Yes, you're overanalyzing.

              Good luck.

You're preaching to the choir. We're all aware of their initial appointment time frames. You'll be moved up a time or two like everyone else has been.

Get your paperwork in order. Some folks have been surprised when they received a call to come in the following week or even the following day.

Yeah I requested a few days ago and got 10/5. However, I saw that many people got their appointments moved up quite a bit so we may just get lucky.

Do we turn in the paperwork at the interview or do we mail it in?

I live in Riverside County but work in OC. Do I need to get a ccw to carry at my workplace? It's an Electrical Contractor. We get copper stolen all the time and homeless people coming in all the time.
