Just received my permit in the mail and here's my timeline. I just realized I got charged $114 instead of $169. Wonder if it's because I submitted my application prior to April 1.

      Application: 01/20/20
      Class/Qualifications: 02/23/20
      Livescan: 02/23/20
      Interview: 03/25/20 (rescheduled)
Web Interview via Microsoft Teams: 05/05/20
      Initial Approval: 05/08/2020
      Final Payment: 05/12/2020
      Permit via Mail: 05/15/2020

Was your approval the final e-mail that they were sending your permit and asking for payment, or did they e-mail you saying it was being sent up the ladder?

My renewal was approved and someone would contact me about payment. I don't expire until 07/21/20

My drivers license has my old address, do I need to get a new one before applying? Their site says "Valid California Driver’s License or ID Card - Must have your current address in Orange County." which means I do need to update it but wondering if they will accept auto registration in addition to my license?

However the DMV says they don't issue new licenses for change of address.

You can submit a change of address online with the DMV and that will suffice.

I received notification of final approval today also. It mentioned a forthcoming phone call for taking payment ... I paid an online fee when I applied for renewal. So I’m uncertain on what additional fee is required. Today is also my expiration ... so I’ll have to wait patiently for the new permit to arrive in the mail to resume carrying.

Your credit card will be refunded, then when they call they'll take take your cc over the phone, then2 or 3 days later the ccw comes in the mail.

I didn't pay upfront because I knew not to from previous renewals. By new ccw came last week.

Thanks. Just recieved this from OCSD via email:

Good Morning, we are reaching out to you regarding your approved application.

As a courtesy, we are offering a pay by phone and US Mail option. If you paid online at the time of application submission, that fee should have already been refunded back to your account. Our system will accept your payment, but once it reaches us, we are not able to process it. We will be reaching out to you beginning, May 22, 2020 between 8am & 3pm to offer this option. If we do not reach you during that time, we will try again during the week.

If you were contacted and paid by phone today, please disregard this email.
