Blackote congrats! Your timeline is very similar to mine. My original request was also not received in December. I think their server was down or something.

    Carry safe.

Congrats! Crazy timelines. However, folks in SD, LA and the Bay area wouldn't love that kind of wait compared to what they have now.

Anyone have trouble getting ahold of them? Called a dozen times, no reply to Direct or general emails... I bought a new pistol and had it signed off by an instructor.

You don't need to call them. Follow the instructions for an amendment and mail it to them. It took less than a month to get my new card in the mail.

As someone who has been eyeing CCW in OC for about a year, is now the time to apply?

Yes! The whole process can take up to 6-12 months. So applying now doesn't mean you are fully committed if for some reason you need to back away.

Yup, mine took 8 months from start to finish.

Very nice! If you don't mind paying stuff in advance then I recommend doing your live Scan about 4/5 months before your interview. The live Scan results are taking up to 5-6 months maybe even more by the time your interview comes around

This won't hinder the process in any way, having the live scan dated prior to my interview?

Is it also recommended to email my application prior to my interview?

It won't hinder it, but you want to make sure your good cause is sufficient. You don't want to pay for Livescan and then be told your statement is insufficient.

No don't email your application. You will hand in all that at your interview.

It will not hinder your process. They legally can't tell you to do your live Scan before the interview. It helps speed up the process by a lot doing it before.

This exactly. Which is why I said if you don't mind paying forward for the live Scan which is about $100 or so.

I'll definitely look into starting my Live Scan a few months prior to my interview. I feel as if I GCS is sufficient.

                              Thanks

                                ...getting there!

                                Fellas,

With my interview looming end of this month, I decided to check in on the Livescan status. I'm a little concerned, as the response after entering the ATI / DOB was, "No applicant status info in DOJ automated applicant response system".

Is that 'normal' while they are processing, or, should I conclude something is off the rails?

                                Thx,
                                TZV
