    Thanks a lot.
I don't think it's necessary. I have my middle name on my REAL ID DL but I didn't include it in my Livescan app. No problem with getting it completed.

If you use the Livescan form from the LASD website, the firearms portion of the Livescan will be automatically included. As has already been noted, it is most likely to check that you don't have any firearms ownership disqualifications on your background check.

        Thank you Mute,
But other people on this thread said they had to submit their serial# for each gun. From what I read or the way I understood. And each gun has to be researched.

          Thanks a lot for input.
I am thinking it will look odd-exact the same first and last names, just difference is-up to about 3 years ago no middle name and now with. In the mean time who knows how investigator will take it if he find out that DL before RealID was without MN and now with MN. Really stupid issue! After 30 years in US, recently I was needed to prove I am married on my wife! Marriage Cert from CCCP wasn?t accepted!

Someone said they have to submit serials for their LiveScan? I am doubtful of that. Maybe there is confusion with having to submit serials for their application or for training results?

Good morning. I too downloaded and printed the form when I was going through livescan from lasd site. It's included when the 2 are checked off. I was worried same as you that I'm missing something but it worked out.

That is done on your CCW application and is separate from the Livescan. LASD does their own gun check on the specific guns you plan on putting on your permit (up to 3), to ensure that those have clean records.

For LIVESCAN, does anyone know if "completed" means its completed and a pass or does completed mean there now needs to be a process where they review the completed livescan to judge for approval/pass before telling us to proceed to training?

That should mean you passed/was approved. I completed my live scan a few months ago and all mine show 'completed'.

I picked up my renewed permit today and asked the deputy how many permits they're issuing per day (people coming to pick up). The count is approximately 30 - 40.

Livescan and serial numbers happen in two different steps.

For the Livescan, you do not need to provide any firearm information. The "Firearm" portion of Livescan is to check that you are not prohibited from owning firearms. You can order this report for yourself from CA DOJ using form BOF 8016RR, Firearms Eligibility.

Serial numbers come into play once you go to firearms training. You will bring the guns you want to carry and fill out the form with each firearms make/model/serial number and the instructor will qualify you with each of those and sign off on the form. Once you receive the PTT email, you will forward that form to LASD and they will perform a check to make sure they are registered/DROS to you.

Nice, when did you apply, and why so far out for pickup? Was that the earliest date they offered you?
