Question, i am waiting for my call from LASD for an interview in the next few weeks, however, i am a resident in Long Beach and they just opened their application process today. The fees are very high, but do you think it will be much faster to go through their process, let me know what you all think. Thanks.
I was planning on going with the LBPD route also as I am a LB resident. From what I?m told is that the upside with Lb is the turnaround should be way quicker with LASD . Only thing is the higher fees, 16hours minimum of training instead of 8, and the pysh eval. I was told that only 1 firearm can be listed on the ccw but I see their app showing a max of 3 so, not sure about that part.
When did you apply with LASD?Last edited by DProm; 05-01-2023, 8:07 PM.FS: Modlite PL350OKW pistol light, 365 IWB Holster

that timeline is insaneFinal renewal timeline report:
- 5/3/23 Permit Exp.
- 11/3/22 Submit Renewal Application
- 3/9/23 Received email from CCW Unit to send utility bill and setup interview
- 3/10/23 Phone interview
- 4/12/23 Approved with email to do required training
- 4/21/23 Did training and submitted late that date (Fri evening so effectively sent in training completion 4/24/23)
- 5/1/23 Received call to pickup permit
- 5/4/23 Pickup date
So after submitting 6 months in advance, had a one day lapse between old permit and new permit. Granted, I could have saved about 2 weeks if I had taken my tranining prior to receiving approval call. But as I stated before, I advise submitting your renewal, at least 6 months in advance.
you already have the permit. you would think it's a matter of checking boxes and a couple of weeks at mostLA County CCW Progress

LBC is without a doubt going to be faster, although that does not mean better.

The fees are very high, but do you think it will be much faster to go through their process, let me know what you all think. Thanks.Im in almost the exact same situation with my city. It appears my city and LBC are very similar in their CCW approval process, minus the 16 hours training.I was planning on going with the LBPD route also as I am a LB resident. When did you apply with LASD?
I could drop from LASD and move to my city but I refuse to pay the crazy high fees and unconstitutional requirements, regardless of turn around times.
Also, if you move out of LBC to somewhere else within LA County you have to reapply with whatever jurisdiction you then fall under. With LASD at least you just submit a change and wait for them to process it. All the while still having your CCW.
Thats my two cents.Comment

Not to mention psych eval and 16hours training. I’m hanging on and waiting for LASD myself. Hopefully soon, just did my live scan as to what the website says for those that submitted apps before 08/01/22.FS: Modlite PL350OKW pistol light, 365 IWB Holster

I sent my training docs twice on April 8th and 11th as a follow up to confirm receipt and didn’t get confirmation of receipt however, I got a request for current utility bill on on April 17th which I promptly sent in. Am I assuming confirmation of receipt on the training docs with the request for current utility bill?__________________

Hey Guys, looking through the livescan paperwork (I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and do it now so I feel like there's SOME progress being made)...
Can anyone confirm that the Billing Number, Misc. number, "Your Number:", and employer section can/should be left blank?
This is the form I'm looking at: https://lasd.org/wp-content/uploads/...722_091222.pdf6/28/22 - Mailed
