Also, some IAs have limits on how many you can put on your permit. For example, San Diego Sheriff allows three previously. I heard they are allowing 5 recently.

    OK, thanks for that clarification.

My source wanted me to share this as well.

They live in unincorporated LA Co, so are applying only with LASD.

It was about a month from submitting app to check being cashed. It was about a week after that when they got a call from a number w/o any identifying info from the SO. So, once your check is cashed, do NOT screen calls, esp ones w/o any info -- it might be the SO's CCW person calling.

The person calling ID'ed themselves as a deputy.

The deputy briefly went over their GC statement w/them. (IMO, they've got Light Red GC.) They say the app has one part that says in red not to fill out, among other things, the GC part (section 6-7-8), but another part says to fill out, among other things, the GC. They skipped the former and filled out the latter (incl GC). Since the deputy discussed their GC, they think it was right to fill it out the way they did. (I hope that makes more sense if you're looking over the app while reading what I wrote.)

It's a separate call about a week later to set up the in person interview.

FWIW they've never met AV or the Undersheriff nor have donated to AV's campaign.

They provided other details, but I don't want to compromise their anonymity w/either CGNers, antis, or LASD. They can reveal more about themselves, if they wish after they've got card in hand, been denied and exhausted all appeals or won't appeal.

Oh, and they thanked me for doing this and suggested I put such an offer in my sig line so others who, like they, want to stay anonymous will have a channel to convey information and answer questions for CGNers.

IF he keeps his words, I'm okay with Good Cause that's achievable. It's still leaps and bounds from No Issue at all. I have seen how Good Cause has significantly liberalized CCW in the neighboring Orange County in the last couple of years where I used to live.
I hope people in LA Co keep up with these online town halls to hear if AV says anymore about CCWs, esp GC. Make it productive: just play it loud in the background while you make dinner or do exercises/stretching and your brain will catch it if he mentions CCWs or concealed carry permits. I've got enough on my plate now, so I won't (plus I don't even live in LA Co.).

A Lot of talk today about CCW in his facebook live. No new info, but tons of people asking about it, and he acknowledged it a few times. Sounds like he understands the demand is there. Really anxious to see the end result.

If a denial of GC doesn’t negatively affect future applications, I’m planning on moving to SBC next year, and it will only cost $10 I will apply and roll the dice with my light green GC.

I never thought I’d see the day but ... today I’m happy to announce the first CGNer to pass GC and interview with LASD!!!

(And that’s all I’ll say at this point.)

Wow ! Pity we in LA have to do LAPD first. Awesome news.

As I said earlier in this thread, at this point, they have almost complete discretion in what they do, so you want to look as reasonable as possible every step of the way. Someone else asked about "can I put my modified gun, which had the LCI removed" and I said no, don't do that.

My gut feeling on this is, go with a compact, unmodified, reasonable quality gun that's suitable for concealed carry. Something like a Glock 26 or the H&K P2000sk or a 2" 38 spl or similar: small, high quality, factory-condition guns designed for defense.

Don't put on stuff that can't be concealed, like a 629, and don't put on stuff that's weird, like a Ruger Mark 2, and don't put on something that a serious person wouldn't choose for carry, like an antique gun (anything made pre-2000) or one of those stupid NAA mini 22 short revolvers or your favorite AR15 pistol. Those will make the application look non-serious.

Certainly don't remove any safety feature. In fact don't make any mods to it at all beyond installing night sights if you want to. Remember, that extended ambi safety might not be compatible with your holster, which might result in a negligent discharge, and if you have a CCW that might get local press coverage which isn't good for anyone. So keep it in factory configuration.

It’s not card in hand yet, but the interviewer forecast blue skies and smooth sailing.

I'm assuming this is the same guy who Paladin said had a light red GC. Either way sounds amazing!

I can't even remotely imagine anywhere within the City of Los Angeles that you are 35 minutes away from the closest station.

I'm very curious where such a location exists.
