Hi all,
I've been reading a lot on this forum and am sincerely appreciative. I'm new here, but it's been helpful. Thank goodness for the YT video I found which recommended it, otherwise I'd be so much more lost than I already am lol
I'm submitting my CCW application and am a bit anal retentive about things. I want to get it right the first time (I really do feel the need for a CCW). If it is not too much to ask - and certainly let me know if it is - I'd appreciate it if someone with some experience could review my good cause application. If so, I'd prefer to submit it via private message.
Please let me know and thank you

This is not unexpected. This situation is very similar to that in San Diego when the Sheriff similarly relaxed the issuing standards. There, they used a two appointment system and the throttling factor was the wait from your call to get that first appointment. In February 2018 you could call for an appointment and get one a few days later. The second appointment could be scheduled days later, and if all was in order and the clerk had time, both appointments could be done at the same time. That was about the time word of the policy change began to spread.
By March, the wait for the first appointment was 3 months.
By September, it was 6 months for the first appointment and another month for the second.
By December, the wait for the first appointment was 7 and a half months.
By January, it was 9 months. That was about the time San Diego re-engineered their process to become more efficient.
Unless LASO makes similar changes or massively increases the personnel devoted to the CCW process, I would expect very similar results in L.AI wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.
The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes

Yup. It makes sense. The # of applications double...triple....quintuple...but the amount of staff stays the same...it's just going to take more time.

The new members touting the simple & easy process for LASD issued CCW's are nothing but political lackeys for the head Bandito. Remember when Too Tall Pauls minions joined a couple of years ago trying to tell us that Tanaka was CCW friendly ? How funny is it now that now as a convicted felon he cant even own a gun ?
I’ve helped ~30 CGNers get LASD CCWs since last Oct 01, including 3 using only Light Green GCs. Last week alone I had 2 Yellow and 1 LG CGNers thank me.
Believe it or not, hell has frozen over and pigs are flying (and we should find out this month if UFOs are real).Comment

You are correct ...my girlfriend is a traveling NOTARY PUBLIC (she has her own business)...she's not into Real Estate .....but....she works closely with RE Agents....it's dangerous for them too...she filled out her application...with GC letter... and is turning it in to the nearest sheriff station today. All you RE people should be informing, educating, encouraging and helping female agents and brokers to learn about guns and to apply for CCWs. Too often guns and our 2nd A are viewed as “men’s things.” Criminals are more likely to target gals as victims than guys. CalGuns has its own Women’s Forum too.Last edited by stag6.8; 06-01-2021, 8:38 AM.Walked in application: May 10th 2021

I’m disappointed no one has mentioned my CCW Application Advice thread pinned at the top of the forum. Posts 1-3 are vital. Post #31 in it breaks down the CA CCW GC map and its colors. Best to devote one evening just going through that whole thread to understand what you’re undertaking.
