Has anyone been able to confirm exactly what LASD is doing with the LiveScan?

Is it just for the purpose of verifying that the guns you want on your permit are registered to you?

I am more familiar with the process in San Diego and they do not use that. They seem to have a direct connection to CA DOJ for that purpose.

Got the following response when I emailed LASD CCW unit regarding my application.

"Yes your application has been received. You will be contacted when your file has been assigned to an investigator."

At least they claim to have my application (?). The wait for the call/letter continues...

That's reassuring. I didn't even get that first sentence! I'll give it another month before a follow up email, but hope for the best!

The new members touting the simple & easy process for LASD issued CCW's are nothing but political lackeys for the head Bandito. Remember when Too Tall Pauls minions joined a couple of years ago trying to tell us that Tanaka was CCW friendly ? How funny is it now that now as a convicted felon he cant even own a gun ?

Live scan 5/10. (Trainer provided form, filled out)
Firearm portion completed 5/29

Now just waiting for a call.. have my ATI number ready to go and hopefully will shave off some time on the process now that I have everything else done.

My GC is work related (Realtor).

Is it best to include the company I work for and location in my good cause statement? I’m using yellow gc occupational (Night auditor for hotel)

Since your GC is work related, I would include it.

During my interview the deputy asked what I did for a living.

I told him, it's kind of complicated. "Do you want the long version or the short version?"

"Long. We have plenty of time."

Spent the next 10-15 mins going over what I do exactly for work from day to day to travel, to expectations, to the construction crews I manage.

Hope I get that call soon for my interview. My GC was real estate and competitive shooting.. I travel around southern california mostly as well as out of state matches.. 2 of my frequent matches are located in spots with no cell phone reception and some distance from any first responders. Near lake piru and San Francisquito Canyon area.. I don't' have many sales for real estate, just 1 so I wonder if they will still honor my real estate good cause. If anyone has been interviewed with a Realestate good cause I would appreciate some info. Perhaps what they asked and what they required you to show for your real estate documents. As for my competitive shooting, Hopefully that is honored as well.. I carry mostly off roster firearms, $1000+ per firearm, ammunition and optics for scenic pleasure...

It would be if they were not interviewing applicants or not issuing CCW. But they are so it's not really.

I think you under estimate the size of LASD budget if you're worried about a $30/ application "money grab" lol.
