I would wait until you get the call to schedule your interview. Live Scans expire after 6 months.

I would give it 6 months after they cash the check to even consider doing the livescan. The problem with livescan are a) they are only good for I think 6 months and b) to have the process streamlined the firearms portion sometimes takes weeks to come back. Hence the reason why some of us take that chance of doing it early in order to avoid the delay of waiting for it to be completed

I saw in many signatures people put “firearm livescan completed”, what is this? I am under impression that when FFL does transfer it is cleared. Am I missing something?

When you do your livescan 3 "categories" are checked.
CA for the DOJ
FBI
And firearms.
Each obviously is a separate entity and each comes back for the most part at different times
The only thing some people forget to do it take a picture or write down your ati number so you can check the status. Ati number is assigned when you do the livescan and the administrator writes in on the application

I'm glad you posted this ...when my Girlfriend did her live scan, her prints were rejected by the FBI...and she had to re-submit them. If we didn't check this website, we would never have known her prints were rejected and to re-submit them.

I've read it here from other members and someone in a different Calguns thread stated that at the bottom of his approved live scan, it stated that it expires after 6 months. I know Live Scan locations are required to hold your info for 12 months.

Please let me know if you've seen otherwise.

I know Firearms training is good for 1 year.
