I got a similar timeline as you and have yet to received my PTT. Final scan cleared 11/25 and still nothing. Actually my interview was first on 11/2.

Yeah I don't want to piss them off that's for sure lol. But I kind of want to make a point like hurry the **** up already 🤣. On a side note I inquired about updates on 2 occasions as where my wife she didn't ask at all and turns out she got the ptt before me for whatever that's worth to fellow calgunners. 😬

I have a question for my fellow calgunners. My livescans cleared on Nov 16th my wife's on the 15th, she received her proceed to training email last Friday our interview were a week apart I had mine first. Both back in early to mid November. I've been thinking about emailing the ccw unit and mentioning CA PC 26205 which states they have 30 days after background check is completed by the doj to inform me of approval or denial and be sent my proceed to training email. Anyone ever send an email and include this penal code with luck of getting their application processed any quicker?

I would not throw any penal codes at them. They are very aware of the laws and you are just asking for additional delays. I did reach out to the CCW unit 3 months after my interview with a nice happy new year email and ask for an update but got the standard email back. Right when I was going to do another email (I had actually typed it up) I got my proceed to training email...

Yeah I hear you, I'm probably going to hold off for a few more weeks lol. Hopefully I get the email soon. Usually I'm seeing it takes about 2 months after livescans cleared and a very few like you and a couple others that it took 3-4 months.

It’s crazy how slow everything state or government is. I am also waiting on my CA Salesperson license to sale homes and they are “ Behind” and still working on apps received 12/15/22…

Let’s see which one I get first����*♂️. On a side note on the CCW I did reach out asking for update about 3 wks ago not sure if the put me to the bottom of the pile but haven’t heard nothing.

These timelines are really frustrating. I personally delivered my application to the Hall of Justice in early April 2022. No phone call to interview or anything. It's ridiculous.

It can be pretty fast, like less than three months.

However, get it started early because who knows, they are overloaded with applications these days.

You can take training early. Training is valid for 12 months after you get it, so if your permit expires in December, you could get your training done as early as January of the same year.

I would definitely get the training done early and get the renewal submitted four or five months before the permit expires.

Make sure you put in the form, in the notes section, your reason for wanting a CCW. It's not good cause, it's just a statement of some lawful reason for why you need one. "Self-defense" or "personal protection" are obvious reasons you can use.

Yes this whole process is a big hassle compared to most states. Half the states now don't even require a permit. Well, California is different. At least they are issuing permits now.

Do not do that. As you've seen in this thread, there is no rhyme or reason to the order in which people are called/emailed. You will get the email. I would do your training now so you have it done and can send when you get it
