From when I did the class to when the background was done and I was notified- it was 14 months- I had to retake the class- they wont accept it if it has been over 12 months. May be a good idea to wait a bit on the class.
Just my experience.

Training is good for 1 year, I would go ahead and get it done and out of the way.

Received my proceed to training email today. Department interview was on 07/14/2022, completed live scan on 8/10/2022. Next month it will be a year since I submitted my application. Doing my training this weekend.

Sorry I should have been more detailed, the CA and FBI cleared the first day, the firearms cleared on the 3rd day after I did the live scan.

I submitted my application a few months before some of the applications that are getting training emails now and live scanned in July which came back early August, so hopefully that is just LASD disorganization and not a reflection of my application status.

There is no rhyme or reason why some get processed within seconds, and others grind away with nothing for months longer. I would not read anything into it.

Livescan is DOJ, not LASD. So they can take part of the blame for the hangup.

x2. If you are curious, you can always run one on yourself, see what comes back. I would imagine you already know if you have an arrest record, party to a restraining order, or mental health issue.

I wouldnt assume anything. I was able to pass all my background checks for my first 3 firearms and then received a delay on my fourth. I ran a livescan on my RAP sheet and a felony magically appears. Took a long time to take it off and I had to get the reporting agency to push the DOJ to do it. If anything seems off, I would run a livescan to receive a copy of your RAP sheet

I was under assumption sometimes this month, but maybe another month or two for me
