    Just got my notification that I passed the background check and am now approved for the firearm training course!!!

    Initially applied in June of 2021, heard back May of 2022, finished and sent livescan background check in May of 2022, and now heard back in August of 2022.

    I just don't know an instructor, so I am currently open to any suggestions if anyone knows a solid instructor for a great price

        That makes absolutely no sense. You should definitely go get your training tomorrow and submit it to the CCW Unit tomorrow night so you can get issued ASAP. If the bill passes, you won't have to worry about it for two years.

            If I have not been given my "proceed to live scan" email yet (interview was 4 months ago), should I have anything to worry about? I did my livescan last week in case they "forgot" about me

                Does this mean my Live Scan is done? See attached. It took 6 days and two of them were weekend days. I must be a really boring person.

                            Thanks. My buddy did call the CCW Unit and advised them of the speeding ticket. They thanked him for the notification.

                            Great to see more people getting issued. Also good to know all you need to write for good cause now is "self-defense" and people seem to be clearing the firearms live scan faster. Let's just hope SB-918 doesn't screw things up for everyone. It's scheduled for hearing this Thursday.

                                Wow, my livescan cleared in no time!! Had it done at 130p on 8/3, all cleared by 8/7!! Now to wait to be called to do training!

                                    How long ago did you turn in your training paperwork? What time of day did they call? Just curious.. I'm in and out of meetings all day, going to need to figure out how to pick up that No Caller ID number when it comes

                                                Go to the LASD CCW website, click on firearms training and there is a detailed explanation that includes Handgun Requirements, a list of APPROVED trainers and the Shooting Proficiency Standards Form as a PDF.
                                                4/19/21 applied, 8/31 Whittier interview.
                                                11/17 PTT email, docs sent 11/18
                                                12/13 call for pick up, picked up 12/15/21.
                                                Utah CCW since March 2018 and Arizona since June 2022
                                                Mailed renewal 5/8/23, online 11/6, interview 11/15
                                                11/26 PTT and docs submitted, 11/29 approved
                                                Pickup 12/20
