Even before the routine long delays, individual turnaround was highly variable. Seems to be a manual process and non-predictable.

In the few months I have watched these 2 threads daily, I've seen about 2 or 3 that were very fast, most others were 3-4 months.

Question....my buddy who already has his CCW got pulled over for speeding. Is he required to notify the CCW Unit about it?

In LA County: “Notify the CCW office in writing within three business days of an arrest or any negative law enforcement contact, including any time I am named as a subject in a restraining order.”

Up to your buddy, but I would not consider a speeding ticket to be that type of negative contact.

I respectfully disagree. Based on their statement, pulled over for speeding is a negative contact, regardless if citation was issued. I doubt they’d see it as a positive or neutral encounter.

Part of the CCW is having integrity. In OC, that would need to be reported to our IA within 5 days.

But YMMV.

I just got my proceed to training email today as well. Still undecided if I want to gamble on doing the 8 hour course in the next few weeks or wait to see what happens with SB918.

Well I had my interview last week. Was pretty simple, they basically just went over everything again. Had me write in the good cause section "Self defense" and made sure I had never been arrested, restraining order, etc...

They only accept a utility bill. My driver's license had a previous address and I went to the DMV a few days before to get it updated so there were not any hangups. I don't know if that was strictly necessary, especially considering the DMV requires absolutely no form of proof to change your address, but whatever.

The deputy said they have had an insane number of these that they are working through as best as they could. I did my livescan right away

Go do your training ASAP...if you can, do it tommorow ....keep your progress going...
