Should I do my training before I am given the go ahead to do it?

If I have not been given my "proceed to live scan" email yet (interview was 4 months ago), should I have anything to worry about? I did my livescan last week in case they "forgot" about me

If you were given the greenlight to proceed with your livescan then it should only take about a week or two to hear anything back.

If you just did your livescan without given the go, it will take more time. They might ask for additional documents and etc.

That is where I am confused. I sent additional documentation before the Sherriff said no GC was needed now, so went ahead with my livescan. What other documentation may they need?

For those hoping for an interview in 6 months, here are the updated timelines for 2 I know in LA County that applied June 2021. They still don't have their CCW's yet.

I told both to get their training done, no telling how long it will be before LASD sends them their Training email, then the 4-6 weeks or more to get your CCW after turning in your Training Documents. 14+ months in the process and they still don't have their CCW in hand.

I hope LAPD starts off the bat with Permitium and LASD transitions to it soon. It is an incredible waste of valuable resources. Every aspect of the process could be done online - The application, the relevant documents could be uploaded, livescan, even the interview could be done via Zoom.

To think that a handful of human deputies are opening snail mail and data entrying this information manually is just silly. That is how you would expect administration being done in a third world country. No wonder it takes a now FOURTEEN months to get processed.

Of course it's silly. NO ONE in LA County actually wants us to have a CCW.

I encouraged them to pressure their Supervisor on the BoS, not the Sheriff for lack of funding. the BoS controls the budget for the Sheriff.

Finally! I picked up my permit today for my right to bear arms outside my home. Now wait to see if SCOTUS can get 50 state reprocity like it should be!

Mailed July 5 and hoping that the wait times don't exponentially increase... has anyone heard any solid information? Willing to settle for rumors on the subject as well.

Has your check been cashed? I sent in my application on 6/27 with a money order and it still hasn't been cashed.
